I'm conducting a search for a nice Troopy. The perfect candidate would be a LHD stock survivor or lightly refreshed original in great shape. Prefer a gas engine, but not totally opposed to a diesel. I needs to be original as possible. Either a well maintained original or one that has been lightly restored back to specs. Rust buckets need not apply :)
Budget - sweet spot is $30K but everything depends on the truck. Could be more or less.

There is An 1983 Fj45 for sale, it is located in Kuwait, Middle East. Asking Price is $12,000.
It has a clean straight body, color is original, color code 464.
The bed has surface rust but no holes or cracks or welds.
The Body has no rust, Chassis has no Rust or any welds.

Originally a RHD HJ-47 from Australia. Previous owner imported, US titled, restored and converted this cruiser to LHD this ~10 years ago. 3B turbo diesel, H41 JDM 4 speed transmission (lower 1st gear 4.8:1), split transfer case with Advance Adapters 4:1 gear kit installed. I have a NorthwestFab double kit (2.72:1) that’s still new in the box.
FJ60 front axle with chromos, spartan locker, 4:11’s.
FJ80 rear axle, full float with chromos, detroit locker, 4.11’s.
Custom fabbed pinion guards.
Ram assist steering with hi-steer arms and TMR steering link kit.

The Crew Cab version is the "holy grail" of Landcruiser lovers. I’ve done research on this particular body style and this is what I’ve found out. (Please email me with any information you have about the FJ45 Crew Cabs).
The Crew Cab version was built and sold by special order through the Australian Government directly to the mining companies. These durable trucks were used in the harsh desert environment because of their ability to go through almost anything. Luckily the dryness of the desert preserved some of these Crew Cab FJ45s which were then sold by the mining companies when they eventually replaced them with new Landcruisers. In the later years Toyota sold a Crew Cab version in Brazil for a couple years but they are not exactly...

Body is ORIGINAL and was sandblasted, primed and painted. Engine is a great 6 cylinder Toyota Diesel 2H completely restored with new gaskets, seals and new injectors. Up for sale is my 1980 Toyota HJ45 landcruiser Troop carrier also known as the Troopy. Started out as a project but have too many projects in the garage so this one has to go. 10k Diesel engine work done by very reputable company in Atlanta a few months ago. Runs strong, smokes at first but what diesel doesn’t, then runs great when warmed up. RHD 4 speed, 4WD, DIESEL, new tires. 97k kilometers. Vehicle came from Australia 2 years ago.
