Extra Bolt for Transfer Case Armor

I am reassembling the armor under the truck after months of having it off. I should have taken a photograph, becauseI have an extra bolt. There is an empty boss on the transfer case but I don't appear to have anything to bolt to it. Does anyone know what this is for?

When I changed my transfer case, I took this photo, it's obviously a bolt there, but I don't know much for what, sorry.

That is helpful in that it shows that you have the same empty boss. Thanks. Now I just need to find a home for that bolt...

This is a pic of mine when I swapped transmission and transfers between two trucks. I deleted the original armor long ago and just have a skit plate which is removed in the photo. I saw a bolt in the hole, but it’s not doing anything. You see the ground strap just dangling in the photo. Maybe that was what it was screwed to. I’ll be under my truck later today and I’ll look.

there are 4 bolts for the heat insulator
there are 7 bolts for the factory transfer case protector.

Mine currently just has a bolt. Nothing to do with the ground strap. I would have thought it was for the OEM cage but lf your cage doesn’t use it, the that’s probably not it.

Yeah, I can't imagine why I would have taken it out. Huh. Thanks for the photo.
