@ofer bruhis -- that galley looks amazing. Maybe you already said-- but what type of material did you cover the galley with? I think you posted a picture with a 4x8 sheet of 2mm aluminum, but maybe that was for the floor or something.

Just curious, and I am stilling thinking about my idea for making a roof top box.

Thanks

The frame is 1/2" square steel tubing ($135). All fixed panels are steel 18 gage ($180). All doors and latches are 6061-T6 2mm ($250).
the 4x8' plate was to the floor to get rid of the corrugations. Everything powder coated (free). It is much cheaper then 80/20, much lighter, and takes less real estate. You loose 2" of space (1/2" x 2 on each side).

Panel to the drawers are attached with Sika®. Everything else is piano wire from McMaster. I did tap all the holes for the piano wire hinges and soft close drawer guides. You can also use rivets.

It’s a while that I posted here. Some update…
Galley is installed. Panels painted. The small grill in the back is for a computer fan/radiator that is thermostat controlled and gets the hot coolant from the hydronic circuit.

Bench is finished and almost ready for paint. Needs the latching magnets. Cushions are being made with hard foam and 18oz cotton canvas. The back rests are magnetic attached and complete the bench to a bed.

Air system installed with regulator to the water tanks.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. 6k miles on the truck. Flawless!

I forgot to add. Got AC to work. Totally unexpected. Wire harness came from a European 74 and extended. 24V with no relays. I had to source all the relays and figure out which connector is for what. The new Fan/AC switch had the wrong connector so pulled the pins and inserted in a matching shell to the harness. OEM evaporator, and compressor but all plumbing self made with hoses, fittings and a crimper. Problem I could not find a fitting to the two inputs of the evaporator on the fire wall so a friend machined custom nuts. Evacuated and charged and cold air came. And… no leaks. 🤷‍♂️

Nostalgia. I have an 80 ams like the shap. Did not like the big OEM big wheel.
I don't know why, but I really like those 80 steering wheels. I've been sitting on one for awhile and thinking about installing it; didn't know that there would be so much involved with putting it in place. I do also like my OG 70 series wheel.
