...the hits keep coming from Toyota.

:frown:

FJ62 (3F-E) radiator is now officially discontinued. 16400-61140

So, both the FJ60 and 62 radiators from TRAD (Toyota Radiator) are now discontinued.

My best bet, was I in a situation to procure a new one, would be to find NOS or contact Koyo and see if they are making any OEM aftermarket radiators.

Real bummer. I'm really quite disappointed with Toyota's lack of support for their legacy vehicles.

Anyway, just wanted to pass this information on. For those of you with NOS, consider yourselves lucky.

Regards.

it's been 20 years since they sold new here.
i think the fact that they just were dc'ed says a lot. go to a ford or chevy dealer and try to buy 20 year old parts.

On one hand it's a bummer, on the other hand the last 62 was produced 21years ago after a 3-year run.

sad

I did find that out back in late october when i was replacing my radiator and found out that they no longer sell it.what bums me out is that my cost was less than $400 for a new one when the one i got form RB was $300 i would have bought the OE if it was still available.:frown:

You get used to that after a while...

I have found the CSF rads. to be as long lasting. My last TOY rad lasted just 3 years. Could have been a bad one, but I was not impressed. I too am disappointed in the lack of parts. MIke

I have better luck sourcing parts for my '85 Toyota than I do for for my wife's '97 Grand Caravan. Look to other sources, you'll find the parts you need. I went aluminum universal from Summit Racing. Less than half the price, more cooling capacity.

Mmmmm.... Aluminum ....

Me too. OEM radiators are much better quality than aftermarket. I remember some OEM radiators having nearly twice the number of fins per inch.

Rick

my 60 after 255,000+ ('87)with OEM need a new radiator

Yes..

Well, sadly, Toyota is still a business. I bet the costs VS. demand fell below their "number" to keep reproducing them. I don't blame them. Without sounding too Carl Sagan, "We just have to evolve."

i destroyed mine removing my engine a few weeks ago and need a replacement. any idea what the part number from summit was? i also saw a thread a couple weeks ago about a purpose built aluminum rad for the 60 made in california.

Thanks for letting us know!

PO of my rig had the radiator changed out to an aftermarket with this offset gooseneck filler, not a big fan. But I am thinking he did this because the truck was overheating and they could not find the problem. After I changed out the head gasket and saw it had an aftermarket gasket blocking off the rearward coolant flow holes...Well, I am guessing that was causeing overheat.

The shop probably tossed a perfectly good Toyota rad.:crybaby:

I used their PN SUM-380328. It is not a perfect fit, I had to make my own mounting brackets, but it does a great job of keeping the angry V8 cool. There is another thread somewhere with info on the manufacturer of the aluminum direct fit piece that MAF sells.
