Crossmember is 1.75" .120 wall the 2 sidemounts are 3/8" and have 2 , 1/2" bolts thru the frame...T 350 has a mount pad, and the AA adapter has one, there is some problem with the bolts coming loose in the 350 so we tied the 2 pads together with a large section of steel and mounted from that.

I was able to buy 2,4 ' sections of steel tubing and bend them up nicely for the cooler lines, found an OEM bracket to hold them in place.
Waiting on a Lokar shifter to get in, drove it around back this afternoon, first time with an auto..... :flipoff2:

looks like it'll work. any reason why the crossmember goes to the OUTSIDE of the framerails?? how bout welding up another plate on the inside to sandwhich the frame?

No advantage, the t case hangs too low to gain anything by doing that.......and it's 1/4" off the floorboard
We mocked it up with the DS up level but it looked goofy

Butch,

Looks very nice. Had you thought about tappering the side plates such that they'd be less likely to hang up on stuff?

I think my next 40 is going to have to be an automatic. A sign of aging I'm sure.

butch, is there any poly in the mounting, or is it all solid?

Just to reiterate the question that has already been asked, but it does not look like there is any bushing anywhere. Your motor, tranny, t-case all twist under power, even if it is just a little bit. That twist can result in your weld tearing right off over a period of time. Also any other shock to the vehicle will not be distributed. I would suggest implementing a bushing or two into the crossmember.

You could easily add one of these in without much work to what you have already done. http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/transmt.html

I am not trying to criticize your work. It is better than I could do for sure. If you know of others who have used a similar setup with no problem then ignore me. Just trying to help out :)

Good God,
you guys must think I just fell off the turnip truck.......there is a black energy suspension mount on top of the 2X2 angle that is welded to the tubular crossmember, it's the connection from the mount to the plate tying the mount pads together.
Next time I'll buy a red one.......or blue :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

red is better.....color blind bastids that we are....

I can kind of see it now, but it still looks like metal to me. Please get red next time. Thanks.

How did you bend the tube?

Looks good, otherwise the curved piece looks to far to one side?

It's a section of DOM out of a cage Rock Taxi made on his JD and we altered, already had the bend in it.......and was cut on that side.......use what ya got. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
