Debating between 285 BFG A/T and the 295 size. Pics and comments please

I know there is probably another thread. But I like being able to have my three and ask questions that I want to ask without derailing another thread.

Will I rub any with 295's? I'm lifted now

Very minor rub on full turn. My 305s rubbed even more.

I'll be watching this thread, as I'm also debating whether my next tire will be 285 or 295 (running stock Michelins for now).

Probably will go 285 since I won't be lifting it for a while yet, since I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that a 295 will rub pretty badly with the stock suspension.

Good luck on your decision! Since you're lifted I'd vote 295s...

well, if it's a littlerub, I won't care. If it's rubbing while turning into parking spaces. I won't do it.

I think I'll run the 295's. I like the sound and looks.

Loud- post up the best shot of the 285's you have. Just to get an idea of how wide they will be/look.

I finally put my BFG At's on the other day. I went with 295's and think they look great. Will throw some pictures up soon

FWIW, I would go 295 or 305.

My 305 BFG MTs were unbelievable off-road.

On road, they sucked. I sold them for a quieter ride, but the sacrifice within the Toyo ATs aren't even close to the BFG MTs for wheeling.

The Toyos have great on-road manners. Off-road, not my favorite.

I'll be running 295's soon. The bfg at are as aggressive as I really need. The Cooper STT may be to loud, and not a well mannered street l-able tire. Below 50% tread m/a get real loud.

Dude, BFG ATs are the s***. I love that tire. I just wanted something a little quieter on my DD.

I run 33 10.50s on my 60 and they rule. Pizza cutters!

My buddy just put a new set of BFG ATs on his 100, but he went 275. Too small IMHO.

I agree with loud, go with a 295, or 305.

Both of those rigs look awesome.

Those 305's look sick! The bfg is a badass looking tire man. My brother has a set on a 05 4Runner and they don't stop! After we went offroading in his. The bfg really grew on me. Also, I never knew they were that quiet.
Your toyo at aren't very aggressive are they?

You forget, I started with a 60 series.

My only beef, if I had to have one, with the 295 (and 305) is that it's kind of an oddball size. It used to be that only two or three manufacturers made a tire in that size, but I see there's more now. I also see there's no cost difference new, in fact my E 285's are a couple bucks more than D 295's.

Cory, your absolutely correct. The 285 BFG was originally my choice because well, just about anywhere has them within a day. Usually if not at the shop, they're at the local warehouse.
