Over the holidays, my 99 reached 300K miles. I bought the truck in 2017, 2-owner Texas truck with tons of maintenance records. This forum has been a HUGE help during this journey for our family Cruiser that continues to show why it is just in another category of vehicles.

It started back in 2017 when I wanted a Tundra to take family road trips down to Mexico...well, no Tundra but I found a higher mileage (or so I thought, 99 with 243K with a folder full of maintenance records for my budget ($7.5K) Since, I've spent many thousands of dollars baselining in including Front differential, Brake Booster, U-Joints, shocks, brakes, PS pump/hose, alternator, motor/transmission mounts...previous owner did Radiator, Valve Cover gasket and a lot of other things lol. I've had many of the problems discussed on the this board for a vehicle with this mileage. I didn't want to lift my truck as it cruises the highway 99% of the time...but I added a few things to make it unique.

Notes after 300K miles
* Use OEM parts...more expensive, absolutely, but i learned the hard way with PS hose lol
* Expensive to baseline, especially when doing it at a shop. An expensive vehicle period...but its paid off and well worth it. Finding a good LC shop has been worth it for me...not cheap, but well worth it
* I have driven this vehicle 15+ times to Mexico from DFW....1500 miles round trip. I have loaded up the back seat with hundreds of lbs of luggage, etc...truck purrs down the road
* I have a 99...so 4 speed. It likes to cruise at 65-75mph. I consistently get 13-15mpg
* I use premium fuel....not needed, but neither is a 99 vehicle with 300K miles.
* Why get an "extra vehicle"? Well, I use mine and get great use out of it. I always say, some people have motorcylces, 4-wheelers, snow mobiles, boats....I have a a Land Cruiser. An expensive toy...that keeps me and my family safe on our drives.
* Truck is SOLID...difficult to explain, just feels different, hit a bump, close a door, put a rear seat down, grab the shifter...no vehicle compares in my book

Thank you for the smiles while I drive you down the road in comfort and for keeping my family safe. I'll keep taking care of you and please keep doing the same for me.

Congrats and Keep em going..ours is about to hit 345. Only 1/4 way into our trip from Ny to SoCal and back. In South Texas near the border at the moment and making some repairs on the way, she’s running great. My wife’s an Aggie and we decided to name the Cruiser “Old Reli” similar to Reveille for anyone who knows. She’s been that reliable.

Looks good. Your 300k milestone is more pleasurable than mine- I managed to rupture one of the coiled brake lines off the master cylinder at 300k.

Congrats ! My 98 hit 300k 2 months ago and my reward was the brake booster biting the dust. oh well, that's behind us now. Don't forget to get your 300k sticker from Toyota !

The order was put in last week...it'll be a proud moment putting it on my LC.

BTW, seats are LSeat...they have about a year on them and about 6K miles...plenty of posts about the quality, they were well worth it compared to what I had. Great upholstrey shop at a very reasonable cost put them on.

It's a love story for all of us who have these rigs. :beer::beer:

btw, where did you get the seat covers from? those look great. I might be needing some soon.

They are LSeat leather replacements...I did front seat, armrest and middle-rear seats. I went to a local upholstery shop and they told me if I could get the leather, they would install it...and I think they did a great job at a great price! Customer services was great and leather is very similar in color to OEM. OEM was smooth, LSeat has some texture which I'm just fine with, so no complaints.

There seems to be plenty of complaints on LSeat leather...but I've been quite pleased for 1/2 the prices of Ridies, etc. DEFINITELY better than the 25 year old ripped leather lol
