better add a date night to that as well.... movie and dinner date with the wife... not date somebody else :) that would cause alot more problems than just 3500 gone

Yeah, and a date night that's had some thought put into it, not just down at the fish shop ;)

Arent you coming up this far now mate.

I know its been a while since I updated this thread but just to give you a heads up on what is happening. I am heading down to Cairns today and come back tomorrow with the chassis now that all the brake lines have been redone. Drums have been machined, shoes fitted and all new lines from front to back. The engine is still causing the engineering shop a few dramas but hopefully that wont be too far away either. Will post some pics of the chassis and brake lines when I get back tomorrow.

She knows the engine is down there but not how much. Still working that part out. Apparently the valves are too long in the head cause it is a 2F head. I will speak to them tomorrow while I am here in Cairns and find out what is going on

Well got the chassis home yesterday just. Hit two Roos in the prado and almost got struck by lightning as I drove through a huge storm. The boys at Cairns Brake and Clutch did a great job. Went and saw GEM engineering about the motor and they are working out the last of the issues with the motor but this is what it looks like at the moment.
Engine Rebuild.webp

Nice work Ken! If only you weren't back in my stomping grounds, I'd have done your brake lines!
