Hey All,

I am looking to possibly buy some of these 70 series takeoff seats from Cruiserparts, front row.

The seats come from a 2018-2020 HZJ79 Double Cab, I have a 1993 HZJ73 which they would go into.

I'm curious if anyone knows if they'll be direct bolt on, or if the floor pan differs, and, if different, what this difference is (i.e. how much work would it be to get them to fit). I know it's close from looking at pictures, but I'm not familiar with the small differences in models and years.

Thanks!

No go , the pickup and troopy seats have different bottom pans then the other 70 series .

I am bringing some rad Recaro seats in my next container and will be making the adapters to fit them in a 73 btw.

Love me some recaros…these must be some
Cool 80s recaros.

Damn, @SNLC got me excited there for a sec.

My problem is I want Toyota seats, no matter how uncomfortable 😩

@joekatana we talking majorly different or an adapter could easily be made?

You can make an adapter to put a troopy/pu seat in any other 7x model but not the other way around . Those new model seats are really really uncomfortable, I just crated up a super nice set of front seats from a wrecked low mileage Lj73 also , normally those end up in my private stash but since you bought your 73 from me exceptions can be made 😉

Sweet. I’ll shoot you a text. It’s two cruisers I’ve got from you, to be exact 😉

I will be back in Texas after the 4th and container will hopefully be following soon

For reference, but looks like Joe already said they won't work.

so, are you saying that one cannot mount the sliders/mount from a narrow nose 70 to the seat of a wide nose 70?

Has nothing to do with the front clip but everything with the floor . Pickup snd troopy have the tank under the front seats and all the others have the tank in the rear and asymmetrical seat mounts.

owning a 75 Ute I totally understand the differences of the mounts ;)
I am asking about removing the mounts/sliders from the bottom of the seat of a wide nose seat and installing the mounts/sliders from a narrow nose seat, swapping mounts/sliders. I have installed some LJ78 seats in my Ute in the past by swapping the mounts/sliders.

I never had a lj78 but you couldn’t do that with a 70,71,73 or 74 seat for sure as it would go up at least 2 inches on one side

I guess my English proficiency is failing me🤣

Take the mount/sliders from the narrow nose cruiser and bolt them on the bottom of the seat from a wide nose cruiser, then install in your narrow nose cruiser.🤷‍♂️
If the bolt holes locations in the bottom of the narrow nose cruiser seat are spaced width wise differently than the bolt holes in the bottom of a wide nose seat then this wouldn’t work.

It might be my apprehensive reading skills more likely 🤣

Width should be the same , 2 different lengths in sliders though between the newer and older styles but you can probably just drill some extra holes in the sliders

This is what I did initially on the driver's side and then made brackets to utilize the longer slides from the newer seat. Passenger side still has my old slides on the new seat as that seat didn't come with slides and extra leg room isn't really a concern on that side.

ok, follow this.
71620-60100 is the lhd drivers seat metal pan ("spring assembly") for a 1993 model pick up. 71620-60101 is the spring for a 2016 pick up. A change from 60100 to 60101 is a minor change to assembly by Toyota engineers. The foam changes from version to version but what it mounts to stays the same. The foam for 1993 is 71502-60040, the double cab is 71502-60044. Minor changes.

If you buy cruiserparts seats, you can take the spring base/pan from your existing seats and have them 'hog ringed' by an upholstery shop onto the new seats and install.

I have taken RJ/LJ seats and put them in a BJ74 with BJ70 suspension bases. In my current truck, I put 76 series seats (60/40 bench) in 79 series pan.
