I am looking for a very good condition (read: no rust or issues) hood for my 66 FJ45LV. Mine was damaged by the transport driver when he was loading it on his trailer. I know I can use an FJ40 or 45 hood that has the windshield pads and hooks but I'd prefer to skip having to fill those holes if I can.

Let me know what you have...

bump... still looking. Would consider any very good condition FJ4x split hood.

Mark,
Just to broaden your search a little bit you can also use a hood from a factory hard top FJ40 61-mid63 as they did not have hood pads of hold down hooks just like the LV

If you can't find one closer I have one down in SC

Did they change as early as mid 63? Wasn't aware it was that early. As long as your including early FJ40 hard tops, FJ25 hard top and FJ45LP with the fixed top did not have windshield hooks or pads.

I think I am on the trail of one without hooks etc... I'll post up and close this thread if I close the deal.

I think you were right John, looks more like they went through atleast 64 without them. I didn't really reasearch it too hard and just assumed they started adding them when they did away with the early FST body style.

So yesterday I was told by someone that I trust that the early FJ40 hoods and the 45LV hoods are not the same. Specifically that the taper/angle of the side at the cowl are a little different and that MAYBE the front corners are a little different shape.

Can anyone comment on, verify or debunk this?

I have a 64 fj45lv hood, no windshield latches. Rust free and straight. $100. Located in Wyoming

I THINK I have one on the way but I'd love to see pics of yours...
