Help! I'm in desperate need of a section of original "center" seat upholstery for my 55- the waffle pattern stuff. Have one area that is bad that I need to sew in replacement material. I'm not a 55 expert so don't know what years have this stuff but I trust quite a few?

So, I will pay a stupid amount for your old seat cover if it has at least one good, useable center section. Front, rear, dog chewed all the smooth vinyl, I don't care! Just need some of that waffle/ criss-cross stuff.

Anybody have anything? Now's a great time to trade that nasty old seat for something your Pig really needs :)

I might not get PM's, so please email me at comer.colin@gmail.com

Thanks!!
Colin

Thanks, but have my heart set on OE vinyl. Only have one damaged section to replace, the rest is all mint original. I found some vinyl that is close, but not close enough!

Greetings.

I'm not making the 55 interiors anymore due to cost, but I have the black material you seek. It's not exact, but the closest reproduction. The original pewter was very strong due to its cloth backing. The black centers were not so lucky and tore along the edge of the print.

Here's pictures.

Best,

Shane

Hi Shane (and Tucker),

Thanks for the tip and the info. That looks like the same material I found through our upholstery guy. It is close, but not close enough. I need to do just one section of one seat so it has to be dead nuts- in other words, OE or original stuff.

Surely somebody has a donor seat they want to sell for silly money? I'll even donate the seat once I cut the cover off!

In my 25 years of restoring cars, and lots of one-off stuff, I gotta say finding correct/original FJ45LV and FJ55 stuff is among the hardest! :)

Please keep your eyes peeled for me. FINDER'S FEE gladly paid, too!

Thanks!

I had found a similar but the backing with thin and it stretches. The new I had made has thick backing and no stretch as the diamonds or squares, depends on how you look at it can't stretch as they are cut specifically in a direction for the cover.

How big of piece do you need? Or what section of the seat? I "think" I have an interior, I can't remember if its in pieces from the one I patterned. Though I'm not sure of its quality as I remember looking for a long time for these years ago.

Colin, hopefully these pics show up OK. I've got this rear bottom seat in the shop. Let me know if any of it is what you're after.
