WTB Ambulance Doors and Rear Clip

The search extended worldwide, as we're all aware, but was fortunate to not only have the pleasure of doing business with a Mudder, but also one with a buddy who was headed from the NW to Tulsa, to visit family this upcoming weekend.

How about them apples?

Anyhow, many emails and phone calls made, a few replies, mostly "you're nuts" or "yes, we have, but on the wrong coast of Oz."

Not going to throw anyone under the bus, so not posting the vendor or the price, but one well known.

There reply to my query.

"We do have the rear ambulance doors available for the set you would be looking at $x,xxx.xx and the clips you would be able to just reuse yours.

Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you today."

Hmmm...

A regular Sherlock Holmes, eh?

It's pretty obvious when you look at it, primarily in the jamb sides where the hinges attach, plus the area above the gate is squared off in the same manner, not to mention the sill.

Considering TuffMudder is looking, I'll go through my notes and post what was offered.

Will say this. It took a lot of restraint to NOT try to deal on the 80 ambi-doors that someone mentioned in a PM.

you mean 2 doors from a 1980 rig or do you mean both doors from 40 aussie rigs? i'd do the swap if had all the pieces. in a heartbeat.

You're not crazy...you're doing what all of us would do....given the time and money
Actually, while I think it's really cool ... I'm partial to having a cold beer sitting on my tailgate:frown: I actually miss the 60/40 door setup like in my old 80, then you can sit on the tailgate even in the rain :hillbilly:

so I'd either have fold down shelves mounted to the barndoors, or a sling floor, in order to retain some sort of useful surface right there- it is super cool having the tailgate, but it'b be even cooler to have barn doors ANd a tailgate. My thoughts would be to barn door, then yank the back seat and put in long jumpers on both sides ala troopy- might move the tank to drop the floorpan; maybe even tall roof. man, toyota could have done so much more with this platform...

It's just personal preference IMO, and what we can't get it always cooler than what we can. I read post where a guy in AUS was lusting after a 4 door Tundra where he had a 4.5L D4D 79 series PU in his signature. LOL -

Thank you.

80 Series

I'm not a drinker....

That works....until the arse end is neck high to an elephant.

I don't mind the 80 set up. Mine doesn't function well, but not enough to change it on the 80.

If it were possible to replicate similar on the Pig, be all for.

move to tech and post pics, and thank you;)

Delivered by Grease Cruiser, another native Tulsan, today.

Going to be a tremendous undertaking, but will wait until underway before chatting about.

Thanks, Jake and John.
You are quite welcome. Glad to be of service to you and that it all worked out. My rear 55 cut has gone to a good home and Yes, it will be a tremendous undertaking but you will get it.

It was nice to meet you and put a face to a name. Let me know what else you are looking for,,,, you never know what I have laying around. My turbo'd 1HZ/H150 would go quite nicely in your 76' ;)

On that note....

I've pre requested the scenario with body man, whom may be a former classmate of yours, to see if there'd be a convenient time to drop by, to show off his craftsmanship on the Pig that should've been crushed, but to also potentially discuss your thoughts on sectioning in the rear cut into the '76.

Since the '72 arse end is opened up, feel it'd be easy to discuss, if you're privy to and bored at any time in the next few days.

Be more than happy to chauffeur and it's relatively close to you, being east of the airport.

Was going to text once I'd talked up him, then offer an escape from boredom (like how I pitch it?) to you....though I completely understand if you've aversion to.

Last thing I'd want to do is discuss what I profess knowledge of, on vacation, so completely understand, if so.

Not asking as an obligation, but may be a chance to get out and see the beauty of Tulsa you've been missing all these years. :)

Pleasure was all mine.

Let me know what else you are looking for,,,, you never know what I have laying around.

The last pieces of the puzzle I'm hunting are the split case output shaft for the drum brake and an intake assembly that would be specific to 3Fs, or diesel 60s, being the top hat and fender mounted air cleaner housing.

My turbo'd 1HZ/H150 would go quite nicely in your 76' ;)

I'm so far down the rabbit hole on the '76s bastard early and late 2F/3F/3FE changing course may put my in the looney bin, BUT a 1HZ/150 combo may reside well in an 80 chassis....with an 76 body...

Legit HZJ 76....at least, that's what I was dreaming about last night.

No, I do not posses the skills to make it happen, but I am crazy enough to do it.

[ducking.....not like you need another project......]

Hahahaha. See above. Haha.

Considering I've my name on locked 70 axles, why not?

Hahaha.
