2.5" Sch. 40 makes great driveshafts. Build a driveshaft jig and try to at least true it up a little.

Good to know, thanks. Bigger question is where can I get it around here? Is that still gonna have to come from a steel place or is that something I can pick up at a hardware store?

I really need a yoke or two. Out of all the shafts I had laying around, none of the yokes are right; they're all from 1st gens so they have the small pattern with the smaller holes.

I think I have about 15 ft here at the house that I can make a smoking deal on... I have to measure it.

I'm only in desperate need of 31", so im sure its plenty for what I need. I'd like to come get it or at least take a peek at it as soon as possible. You around tomorrow? I'm gonna be going to 4WP in the morning and to Northern Tool in the evening (prior to the meeting if anyone's going).

Oh, and if I'm gonna be in the neighborhood, it there any way I could bring my spares and work on sealing them up? (Another GSMTR task that's not completed yet.) You said you have tire sealer or you gotta order it?

It is 2 inch....that I have

It's late notice, but wrenchin' at JBo's tonight if anyone would like to come say hello.

On the docket:
- Replace rear pinion seal
- Replace rear transfer case output seal

Firehouse Subs - not sure if before or after.

Damn I would come by but I'm replacing a hot water heater...

Well, poopsicle. I do want those springs, Wes. Just a matter of figuring out when I can get them! You know how that all works out

Im just a couple miles away from Bomar if you want to stop by

Well, shoot. Maybe I'll do that. Does JBo know how to get there? I'm not good at navigating Memphis... even when my GPS worked... :meh:

Did a little Sunday wrenching.

Cameron and JBo adjusted the valves on JBo's 62. He says he can definitely feel a difference in power.

I swapped Cam's steering box for one I bought a while ago so he can send his to be rebuilt... or something like that. Also put on a new NAPA brake caliper on driver side. I offer no warranty on any goodwill work I perform :steer:

Imma try and finish fuel injecting my truck tomorrow. If you're bored and aren't scared by eleventy-billion degree heat, swang on by...

... especially if you know anything about splicing in inline electric fuel pumps!

I know nothing about 'lectricity, except that it really likes to hurt me on occasion....

I've gotta get some assistance getting a valve cover bolt drilled out, if Jordan or the rest of the crew has any free time coming up. Happy to travel to you!

I've been reading up on advancing the timing on the 80's, and am wanting to experiment with that too, if anyone has a timing gun and knowledge beyond what I know (bupkis) on the matter.

Also have everything in hand to start on my front end, just waiting for the non-fat-man-friendly-weather to cut me some slack....

Any experienced sucker... er.... volunteers on the timing gig?

I'm out for this week on any wrenching except in Hot Springs.

Maybe next week we can drill it out, Tim?

Where do you check the timing on them 80s? Is there access to the flywheel?

I have a timing light. It's an adjustable advance model from Horrible Freight, so I'm not sure if I completely trust the accuracy of the degree marks. Anybody got a plain model to compare it to?
