Anyone have access to a tire machine that'll work on my 38x14.50 15's in case I run into issues this weekend while trying to flip 'em all on the beadlocks?

JBo back yet?

15's? His only goes down to 22's.

Fixed my (minor) exhaust leak, thanks to you guys. Also installed 3-point seatbelts up front and swapped out the huge bumper that came on it with a HFS bumper. Not sure if I'm gonna put the shackles on the bumper or not...

Next 'big' job is rebuilding the front knuckles, then new wheels / tires.

Not many newer tire machines will do a tire that big but yes I will be at dealership all day tomorrow for some dealio at the dealership

Nice bumper, just need some D rings and a winch now.

Yah, the shackles that came with it are zinc plated, would much rather have black, so I'll pick up more soon.

Can you get them powdercoated?

Sure, no reason why not. I soaked them in white vinegar for 24 hours and it stripped the zinc off completely (as expected, I've done this many times before) - gonna prime & paint them now and see how they hold up.

Wonder if anyone ever uses rhino liner on them?

I'm sure its been done but I would recommend not unless they're 100% for show. The first time you pulled with one, it'd be all gone. Powder or some kind of high-dollar enamel would probably be good.

For something like a D-ring, my vote is Tractor Supply machinery / equipment enamel from a spray paint can. Very cost effective and tough. Just make sure it's decent temperatures outside, as enamel doesn't like to cure in cold temps.

I'll have to look in to that too. Probly what I shoulda used on the beadlock rings eh?

Thought I might update y'all on where I'm at with the locker saga. Spartan (aka Randy's Ring and Pinion, Yukon Gear) has inspected the locker we removed from my rear third, and says that because the specs on the locker are within their guidelines, they are sending that specific locker back to me and not doing anything about the rest.

They specifically said that the damage was caused by incorrect installation, and specified further that the failure was "consistent with installation of the OE thrust washers." I emailed back to say that there were 3 other witnesses there that we did NOT use thrust washers. Told them that we installed it (twice) and measured the gap, and had pics to prove the gap when I opened it up for the 2nd time. That doesn't matter, it would seem.

I'd asked that they replace the locker, so I could use an undamaged locker in the new third. They say we used thrust washers and therefore won't be doing anything. Apparently that's as far as it will go. Happy day.

I think that those of you who know me realize I'm not the yell, scream, and cuss kind of guy. I've been very reasonable and measured in every communication I've had. My results have not been encouraging with either the seller (Tony Feichter at Baseline 4x4 Outfitters) or the manufacturer (Spartan/Randy's/Yukon).

Can't say at this point I'd recommend them, but if they end up changing their path and doing something to help, I will advise.

Man I am sorry. I have been following your thread in the 80s section and can't believe the customer service you received. Did you mention to them how poorly the cross pin fit. I feel bad that it did not work out, but don't throw away your old diff, someone might buy it to put an ARB in.
