Original owner 1994 Landcruiser. Mostly rust free, locking diffs front and rear. Straight body, 285k. Emerald green faded paint, but roadworthy... $1500.

Thinking about picking it up for the axles... Anyone looking for parts that want in?

What color is the interior and what kind of shape is it in ?

Just bought a green/gray one with similar miles. Let me know if you buy it, I'm sure I'll buy some stuff.

Its all fun and games unless the axles are rusty. I swapped axles last summer and there were rust issues to deal with on both rigs. Simply put, never ever again!

Plus the birfs are probably worn out at that mileage. Also, I think the drive plates can wear out so that may need to be replaced too. Factory birfs are like 400 or 500 bucks. So you are at between 800 and a thousand just replacing those.

I dunno, I got spare 80 series birfs for much less in the MUD Classifieds :meh: - just sayin'

Car fax it and based on where it has lived you might have a money maker.

If you had bought the twin sister 1997 white Collectors edition in Tucson last year you could have avoided all this. From someone who knows, where is the fun in that?

Birfs and drive plates can be had for free from the unlocked axle that you are replacing.

Lived its life in AZ and Maine. Has light undercarriage trust, but not anywhere near what I would expect for something that spent time anywhere other than AZ. Truthfully the axles have less rust on them than the ones on my 95. Overall I think the rust factor is quite minor...

I think I am with Saddletramp. I had already allocated the funds for a complete rebuild of my axles plus ARB's. Not sure I want to go down the path of parting it out...

Bowtiestang - I am coming to Tucson tonight to meet up with your S. AZ crew. Want me to drag it down there for you? Lol...

Seriously though... I think I am gonna pass. If anyone wants the details I will pass them along. BTS has first dibs if he wants it...

I wont be at the meet but I am interested in the rust bucket....send me the info on it . Or call-text me 520-609-3764.. thx

EDIT.. Or drive it down and I will give you a ride back to Phx after the meet :) But really I can come up anytime after work next week.. can I drive it back to Tucson or will I need a trailer?

For 1500, do it. I may be interested in buying a few parts if you go that route.

Like:

Drivers side ABS harness
rear axle shafts
maybe a few engine parts.

Bowtie, let me know if you do it and want to part it.
