When I first saw this I said to myself. What a worthless tool. Nobody will buy that hunk of crap. The whole point of a Dremel is it's light, small and get into spots that are hard to reach with other tools.

I see this as a big flop. I guess Lowes see's it the same way as they have it for $59.

Shop Dremel TrioTool Kit at Lowes.com

What other tools do you have out there or have seen that are a waste of time, money and effort?

The rotozip I bought years ago, it has let me down every time. I have yet to find a material it will cut more than a few inches without breaking a bit.

I actually have used a rotozip, although just the rotozip blade in my own dremel tool. It works for one thing: sheetrock. It makes quick work of cutting out electrical boxes. You have to be careful not to let it wobble out of control, but I've found it to work pretty darn good for that.

Otherwise, pretty much worthless.

My experience exactly. I trained several volunteers how to use one to cut out boxes at the Habitat jobs, most got it mastered after a few tries, it really does a nice job, especially for odd stuff like round and octagon ceiling boxes.

Most useless tool I have: a pair of those Sears strap wrenches, with the rubber straps. Terrible.

opposing circular carbide blade metal cutter from Sears, dangerous, gearbox failed quick and dangerous.....

:hhmm:worthless tools ?

:idea:half the people I work with

Oh you mean non human , rotozip is high on the list , all I did was buy and then break bits for it . I could have saved time and gas if I just tossed the $$$ in the trash

The others are a good part of the wood ladders my great grandfather bought in the 30s that my uncle thinks are worth something even after being repaired mulitable times to the point my grandfather used a railing spindle as a rung .
When I fell thru 3 of the 5 steps on a 6 foot step and tossed it in the burn pile he was pissed cause I broke it , didnt give a s*** it was shot and I cut my legs all to hell .
That cheap fxxx wants to sell them and wasnt happy when I cut up one of the 40 footers (had a working height of about 30 feet from the flexing and bowing with anything over 50ibs on it ) to make a jungle gym for my chicken a few years ago .

I actually used one of those rubber strap wrenches to remove the large plastic nut that holds the flush valve seat on the bottom of a toilet tank the other day. Worked like a champ.

The rotozip, what a pile of s***.

Here is another one.

PVC air hose. God I hate those things. I think a coil of copper tubing would work better.

no kidding! nothing like stretching it out and letting go and watching it coil back up !

Another one is the cheap chinese multi tools my inlaws buy me every year for xmas. either the jaws don't fit good or they bend on first use.

I agree those hoses are crap! If you want a GOOD coiled air hose the air brake hoses from a semi tractor work great (the hoses that go from the cab to the trailer).

I usually stick with American made hand tools. Japanese power tools. And stay away from every thing else. The rest will break quickly or get me hurt. I esp . dont like to get hurt. MIke

My cousin nearly died on an old wooden ladder.
The thing broke while he was up it and one of the splintered stringers when right up into his guts via next to his anus. Actually he almost died several times from infections over the next year from it.
Those ladders make good kindling.

I agree, it twists like crazy

Harbor Freight quick clamps. The little hand grip tightened bar clamps that are black with orange rubber covers. I picked a few up on sale for $3 or so. They are terrible. I've thrown almost all of them away. I think one or two are still functional. The plastic parts are super cheap and break really easily.

I was debating buy a demel 4000 or not .. as well as corldess screwdriver .. since sometimes cordless drill it's jusnt too bulky or too much for a simple screw ..

My beef is w/the 'dog bone' wrench. The 10'' long chrome thingy w/multiple sized boxed end's on each end.... Useless.
