If like to see the brushed aluminum. We have it in our Audi's and it looks killer with piano black wood. I've been thinking about having the window switch panels done in aluminum and the HVAC/radio done in high gloss black.

Nick, try wrapping them.

Here are a couple before and after (removal of fake wood) pics. For the money, one of the best mods I've done.

Hey, totally unrelated, but your windows are all "auto" as in auto down? I wonder if that's controlled in the window switch assembly and I could just swap one in and have that feature? My current assembly is toast and I've been considering just getting a new one.

Got this from exoticwoodtrim.com
Pretty happy with it

Not bad! I've been thinking of swapping out my poor looking wood for some real wood trim in walnut or mahogany. Just need to find a vendor. Or my knife.

It's worked on 5 trucks I know of, including my own. You must have had super glue.

I'l having a hell of a time getting mine off as well.

The Wood and plastic layers came off with a fight.

Now I've got that strange tape stuff left and it's a freakin' bear!

I'm going to replace mine with Real aluminum instead. I think it will look great with the gray interior.

Are you serious about aluminum? Won't that get a little warm after a few hours sitting in the sun?

Aluminum has excellent heat dissipation properties. So no. It won't.

traditionally if it dissipates heat well, then it absorbs it well.

real aluminum would be hot if it sat in the sun all day, where would it discharge the heat to? the double sided tape underneath?

Real aluminum IS hot when it sits in the sun all day.... I have a 1999 Mustang 35th Anniversary Edition convertible with an aluminum shifter knob. When you get in it the with the top down, the knob is uncomfortably hot. I wrap a rag over it to shift. With that said, I think the interior would look good with aluminum or maybe the carbon fiber kit.

How much time does your hand dwell on those panels during the summer till they are cooled off?

Metal shift knob on a standard transmission, yeah hot for sure!

Even the black leather is hot to touch. Metal just transfers the heat faster.

How were you able to pop it off and not leave damage? Did you use a heat gun or just a plastic putty knife? Thx:)

Two ways... Wait until a hot day or use a hair dryer or heat gun on LOW setting... Heat the piece up and use your finger nail or a plastic trim tool to start it moving. Keep applying a little heat and gentle pressure until it comes off. Very little glue residue left. Most of the glue can be rolled off with you fingers.

Has anyone installed the brushed aluminum ? How's it holding up?
