I know a few folks here have a Wolfbox Rear View Mirror Camera but has anyone been able to use one of their OEM bracket kits to fit a 1995 FJ80? They just came out with the G900 Pro and I'd really like to be able to use one of the OEM brackets they offer vs strapping it to the existing rear view mirror. They offer kits that fit:

2007-2016 tundra/2008 &2010 Sequoia/2010-2013 FJ Cruiser
2003-2011 4Runner

...and a few others domestic vehicles.

Wolfbox tech support told me their brackets won't fit my LC out of the box. But I'm wondering if any creative folks here managed to use parts of it so it can be mounted to the ball socket of the existing mirror. I know it's a shot in the dark, as the diameter of the ball socket needs to be the same as the receiver of the Wolfbox socket - but if anyone has had success, please let me know. Also looking for installation tips to get this working/looking as OEM as possible, that would be great.

I'm using the stock rear view mirror with my wolfbox. At first the wolfbox was too heavy for the mirror, but after I tighten the screw on the back, it's good to go. Daily driving and wheeling, it hasn't moved.

I'm looking to ditch the OEM mirror for a cleaner install, but good to know if I end up strapping it on.

I don't have an adapter for that brand... BUT we do have a system for the 80 series that bolts in place for the 80 with a few options for mounting the rear camera as well if you have a tire carrier or not. 🤘

Thanks so much - I just looked at some of your youtube vids and the forward and rear cam recordings look great in daylight. Do you have any videos showing the camera recordings at night? Especially the back camera...that's where I've seen some very grainy video quality in other brands. I'm assuming this size mirror doesn't interfere with the 80 sun visors?

buy once, cry once...delta VS!! everything they make is primo

The rear camera works really well for visibility at night when it has light to work with, thanks to Starvis technology. However, in complete darkness, camera systems can struggle. Recently I've learned a lot about this issue: without any light in the camera's field of view, it picks up ambient light from the license plate and tail lights, which can cause bright gray-ish graining on the display.

Night video! We just pulled some of our darkest footage, that happens to all be from my wife's early Bronco during her Rally. These clips are from Johnson Valley and Glamis, with one even in a sandstorm:

The display is 9.66” and just clears the visors on our 91; we'll work to add more images that shows the visors down. And thank you for the suggestion! 🤘

Hi Joe - Those clips look great, as good as any I've seen. I have some other questions about it. I'll DM you.

I used Wolfbox's first mounting option for the 4Runner that works well with the Delta arm. That said, I decided to remove it from my 80...I just couldn't get used to the perspective and a quick glance at the mirror with my progressive trifocal lens glasses. This is more of a personal issue...the camera/mirror system works great, just not for me. I'm going to save it and use it on my box truck at work since I don't have any rear view of any kind on that!

@CrabCake comment has made me rethink my decision. I was thinking of a Acumen 2 ch Legend, which is a LCD rearview mirror with 2 camera support. It also has support for a solid state relay box via its touch screen. Cool tech.

He is right about focus issues with a close LCD screen, if one needs to use reading glasses.

Now, I am looking at front and rear dash cams, and maybe use an android tablet for viewing. Picking the right dash cam is whole other issue...the top brands get lousy reviews, and the rest are no-name brands...

I understand the desire for a rear view camera if the rear is blocked but a GM mirror is another option that is also cheaper. Auto dimming, built in compass, and temp (after running wires for the sensor)

The Delta VS mount has everything you need to do both the Wolfbox mirror and a 1" ram ball for a Yaesu Radio head. I added Lee's mount for a future project that may or may not ever come to fruition.

The Delta mirror arm simply bolts in place of the factory mirror, and includes the mounting foot the mirror slides onto, as if it was going to mount to a conventional glued-onto-the-windshield mount. You can add the normal 1/4-20 threaded 1" Ram all to one of the drilled-and-tapped holes in the Delta mount and have a place to mount your radio head.

No, i talked to wolfbox, and this is what they recommend for our 80s
I've just learnt that we're in the process of supplying adapted bases for the #1 OEM mount. (I have attached a picture of the base) If you can re-move the stock mirror and stand this base on the front windscreen, I think you will be able to use the #1 mount.
About getting the base: you just need to place an order for the #1 stand on our official website, and then note in the order that you need the base.

I didnt go that route obviously..
