I would of paid $350 for this.....the thing is solid and fit is awesome. Install the shelf where you want it and go have it powder coated once you get it with a textured black.

Ok I have GREAT news and s***TY news.

The great news is that after way too many delays the #60Series #Glovebox have finally arrived at the shop just now.

The s***ty news is that I have knee surgery first thing in the morning so none of these won’t go out til maybe starting Monday. Even then it’s a maybe. I just don’t know how well I’ll be doing post surgery but these are here and I promise I’ll get them@out as fast as my good leg will let me 😳

Just no half-naked hospital-gown-open selfies, this time, please... :p

Good luck.

🙏

The wait for shipment is totally worth it. This is an awesome piece of kit.

Sounds like good news and good news.
With a new knee you will be inspired to get more shi** done.
Get well soon. Enjoy the physical therapy.

So honestly I'm kind of glad my OEM light didn't work with the Wits' End glove box, because it led me to find a much better solution than what was there before. LED light strips. They mount with some super sticky 3M butyl mounting tape (about 2mm thick so hopefully enough to adhere to the texture of the powder coating on my glove box, and I led the wires out and down and soldered them to the OEM connector that the original light used. Little wire wrap and she looks good. I only stuck the wire in place temporarily so I can be sure the strips will stay in place through the summer heat and winter cold, but if they stay put I'll run a thin bead of black polyurethane caulk over the wires to help conceal them a bit better. These are really bright and if you don't have the shelf, only one strip would be absolutely perfect for the glove box.

Do you have a link to the led light strips?

Got mine today. I looked thru this entire thread and didn't see any picture of how folks used the holes on the bottom right. I saw references to Ram mounts and ECUs, but no pictures. The hole patterns are clearly intended for something specific. Anyone care to share pics of what they installed using those holes?

dumb ass question - since you have an fj62 too - did you find it difficult to install it? mine met with this resistance on the right hand side, i just couldn't force it into place at all.

@NLXTACY how about responding to my numerous requests for a refund?

Paid $560 about three weeks ago and have had no contact or parts. I have been a customer for over 6 years and spent thousands, not anymore

Going to bump this again. I see the Wits End instagram account is active and posting. Perhaps someone else is managing it? Perhaps some resources could be allocated towards dealing with unfulfilled customer orders!

I have never encountered an issue like this with any other business in person or online. I see a lot of apologists out there but please, enlighten me, why would such a “good dude” keep taking money from people if he doesn’t have the business resources to manage the orders? Why take money for parts that are not in stock and have no anticipated dates advertised? No status updates or contact? Why should customer money serve as the working capital fund for pool orders?

Can anyone provide a cogent, well-reasoned argument, why this type of business behavior should be accepted?

Im not the only one guys, I’m just the one frustrated enough to speak out. This is not right. You should not take a persons money for product and then fail to provide it, in the real world this is called theft!

It took about 2.5 months to get delivered. Was it annoying yes. But it’s not the end of the world. I’ve ordered from wits end for years. They have always had a reasonable delivery window. I assume most retailers do this as a side hustle. This glovebox was the only item I’ve ordered that took more time. Given global supply chain shortages delays are pretty normal. I understand the frustration. It’s just a good reminder this hobby isn’t Amazon prime. Hopefully they will respond with an update and that will ease the pain.
