What number did you call?

NYC, thanks for the # in your previous, and now this, post. I just got off the phone. My truck had both recalls done in the early 90's. The gas tank was replaced on Jan 16, 1992 at Burk/Burke(sp?) Toyota, no idea where that is though.

Too bad though, would be nice to have a brand new tank! At least mine hasn't sprayed gas out on me, though!

as far as I know... tanks are metal. I was told my 60 had already had the recall. Fuel tank is metal. How did plastic get in the equation?
well plastic got in the equation because I heard that the new tanks were plastic and not as strong as the old ones but now I'm thinking thats wrong:hhmm:

Just called and mine was done in Sept 2006

Just wondered, as I had not heard of a plastic tank on the 60.

lol ya thats what I was saying but they insisted lol

well the dealer was able to locate the seat belts for my rig should have them in around two weeks, however they are not able to locate the fuel tank even in japan, so im calling toyota of america back to see if there is something else they can find or if it will just take longer to locate... i feel like i am doing the dealers job

Time and labor are important. I had the recall done years and years ago, but if I were having it done now, I'd spring for a new sending unit and whatever else is accessible on Toyota's time and labor. My .02.

UPDATE:

Just got a call from the dealer. They have all the parts and are awaiting for me to drop the truck off.

Dropping the truck off Monday morning at 7:30am.

Updates to follow.

haaha I would be scared giving them my baby for a day lol

I'm going to hide myself in a mini fridge sized box in the back seat while they work on it.

If I hear them d!cking around ill jump out of the box and scare the sh!t out of the tech.

hahaha sound like a good plan you never know if they are going to **** something up and then fix it and then charge you for it

is there a web site to look up your vin numbers?

Call Toyota Of America: 800-331-4331

Speak to a customer service rep and ask them to run your vin # to verify if a recall was performed on the truck.
