I was at Cosco the other day and saw an 8K for $299 with accessories like a fairlead, snatch block and a few others included.

If you like series wound get an S series not a P series.

I think the brand is Champion...and $299 may be correct...though i would not put it on a cruiser...

costco has a great return policy so I wouldn't worry about that. But breaking down when you need the winch, that might be an issue. If you run with a group mostly, then maybe worth the gamble... it's a great price for 8K

I got a Warn M8000 for under $500 new. Look for sales, it was worth it to me for the name brand over Champion or Harbor Frieght. But, I've also heard great reviews about those cheaper brands too.

as mentioned elsewhere, if you buy a used Warn you'll probably be able to resell it for about the same you bought it, i.e. little if no cost over the period of use. Buy a cheap new winch and you'll lose a lot on resale.

anything is better than nothing..
Used quality is comonly considerably better than cheap new.. I am considering one the of the costco winches for my trailer.

Remember

that

you

get

what

you...

pay for.

I cannot do it any more...

This is very true in the winch world.

Save your cash, put an 8274-50 on the front of it when you can...or you just will be removing what you purchased and replacing it with one later....

8274 would not fit most front bumpers on the 80. The only bumper I know of that would fit the 8274 is the ARB commercial bar, which is not listed in their US catalog.

A cheap winch is better than no winch.

winchdepot.com has the Warn m8000 w/ 100' of cable, roller fairlead and a receiver hitch shackle system on sale now for 549.00. Plus CCOT has the HFS mounting system on clearance.

good luck.
