first off, congrats jason!!! i just took on another 45Lv project, but not for myself. looking forward to the progression on this rig.

I am looking forward to the progress too. Mike is just looking forward to the expression on my wife's face when the rest of Whilma rolls into my driveway:mad:

The old 327 mounts are out and the FJ40 mounts are back in ;)

I hope they're on the right sides. Only 3 of the 4 holes lined up. The 4th was just out of sight through the bracket.

Looks good from here. :)

Ok we got rolling on Whilma today. i got to Mike's about 10am but other than the awkward moment when Mike had forgot I was coming over and answered the door in a silk robe and bunny slippers, we got a bunch done. and so much closer to finally bringing the rest of her home to my house.
We were able to pull the 87' 2f engine up from under the house and slide it into the engine bay and bolt it in. it fit perfectly onto the fj40 mounts. unfortunatly we were not able to mount the tranny as well in that we need to get the flywheel resurfaced. but it was nice to see the engine in. I also spent an hour or so stripping the wiring harness out of the fj60 not sure what I will need bt it will be nice to have it all.

Nice work! Nothin' like working outside in the driveway in December!

Make sure you replace ALL the heater hoses on the motor now before you get everything else in the way. Specially the little piece under the water pump. Just finished a head swap 'cause mine was leakin' and I didn't notice until too late. Oops...

Nick

I plan on replacing all the hoses, and I just picked up an F air cleaner. so the old air cleaner and all the smog stuff comes off and the carb and diswt get shiped to Jim C. to get retuned for life with out smog.
not sure if you can notice the lovely pooring ran as we were dropping the engine in but yeah december wrenching outside has its draw backs. I can't wait to get it into my garage:)

Nice progress. That's going to be a tough Crusier

aaah, yes. new england sunshine!

i just got back from my folk's place in DC. good to be home with 60 degs outside.

Looking good!

I am sure you all are as tired as I am of pictures of Wilma getting moved around. so hopefully these will be the last ones for awhile. and I can start posting pictures of prgress. but getting her into my garage is huge prgress in my eyes.
'cruiser_nerd" aka Jim dropped her off this morning and we pushed pulled it into the garage.
as I said before the doors hood and fenders have already been stripped wire brused and sprayed with an epoxy primer so its just doing the rest of the body , and ofcourse replacing the front floors.
here are some pics of her arriving and in the garage.
