Why a saginaw pump?

I run the Volvo pulley. It is within a RCH of the width of the Toyota wide groove pulley and I run an OEM belt.

Half inch groove. The belt is actually 17/32 wide.

I've always wondered the exact measurement of a RCH. Now we know that it is 1/32". :hillbilly:

BTW, PinHead was the one that suggested the Volvo pulley:o And OK, 1/32nd is larger than a RCH....so I exagerated:rolleyes::D

Ed if that were true, it would result in quite a Sasquatch of a muff-coif:D

Thanks for all the replys
So if the planets and stars align and I get this all together, what belt do I need to get?

If needed you can run a piece of string around the pulleys, mark down the length and take it to your parts store, NAPA, etc - they should be able to match it up to an existing belt. Measure with the tensioner in and out and try to get something in the middle.

That said, I'm running a NAPA/Gates belt P/N NBH2522474. This runs around my water pump, crank and p/s pulleys.

Specs:
Belt Angle : 36
Belt Imperial Length : 47.93" (1218 mm)
Belt Top Width : .6875" (17 mm)

I still have a few pump brackets left. $65.00 plus $10.00 for shipping. There are at least 50 people running my bracket that post here. I'm not making any more so if you want one let me know. Bill

I'm really sorry to hear that, Bill. I always plug your brackets because of their quality/workmanship. Any chance of future production runs for the multitudes that will be upgrading their steering?

A satisfied customer

One thing to also keep in mind are the hoses you will need. The earlier model pumps take flare fittings while the newer take an o-ring style connection.

I seem to recall the one on mine is off a early 80's GM and has the flare. I am not sure if the pump volume or pressure is any different on a non-modified pump.

I just found it easier to make the lines the way I wanted with the flare fittings.

Bill,
Are your brackets designed to work only on a F/2F engine application or would they be usable by folks with B or H engines as well?
Thanks,
John

Part # 20-6000 at Napa is "the" generic saginaw pump, works great.

An fj60 high pressure line will fit the flared fitting saginaw pumps and fit the minitruck powersteering box.

Brackets

I don't think I will make any more but I never say never. I had a lot of the brackets sitting around untill I dropped the price to $65.00.
I have only used the brackets on F/2F so I don't know if they will fit any other engins. Bill
