Yes, I searched and didn't find the information I'm seeking.

I'll soon be taking 3 months off for a bucket list trip. The plan is for overlanding from Lafayette, La to Whitefish, Mt, and eventually back to Louisianan via Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

I'm currently running KM2s 345/75/16 which have been discontinued. I'd prefer to keep my 16" steelies, rather than change to a 17" wheel.

Sooo... for the folks running TrXus MT 37x12.50R16L, what are your thoughts regarding the tire?

Thanks!

I installed Trxus in 37x12.5R16 recently. Have only driven them a couple hundred miles on the road so far but I am very impressed with ride, handling and noise based on the type of tire it is.

I will be testing these tires and some new suspension compontents tomorrow at a local off road park.

I'm not sure what all info you want to know. These are an aggressive off road tire with rather soft rubber compound. Even though their road manners are quite good, when new anyway, they are mainly designed for off road performance.

I have read that they do well in a variety of situations.

Thanks baldilocks! I appreciate the feedback.

I realize they are an off road tire, and don't expect 50k miles out of them. I'd be happy to get 35k. :)

Here is what I'd like to know...

Did the tires balance well? How much weight was required?

How is the highway performance?

To the folks who have run this tire... were you satisfied? Did you buy it again?

Please post your thoughts after your off road trip.... especially if you aired down.

I love my KM2's, and realize I could go to a 17" wheel and buy new BFG's... and may have to some day...but for now, I'd like to keep my 16" steelies. :bounce:

I hope to order new tires in the next few days, and am torn between Toyo's and Trxus.

Thanks again!

Mine are still new and as I said before, they are very good on the road fir what they are. Before purchasing, I spoke with @Nay and @scrowley. Both have been running this tire a good while and love it. I read nothing negative about the radial trxus when I used Google.

I have mine mounted on oem 16" wheels and use a 1" wheel spacer to keep the tires off the vehicle and maximize up travel with only a 4" lift and very minimal fender trimming.

Perhaps I can post a pic or two of tomorrow's test run.

I ran these in a 255/85/16 for a few years and was always impressed with how well they hooked up on and off road. This was all Southeast wheelin to include Tellico all the way over to Hot Springs, Ar. They took a lot of weight to balance but once balanced, ran fairly smooth. The compound is fairly soft which is why they grip so good everywhere, along with the siping.

Regarding treadwear, I wouldn't expect to get more than 25-30k miles out of them.

I used to run the truxus but in a 35" size.

When they are new, they are very nice on the highway. As they wear, they get really loud and ruff, but that's expected since they are very aggressive. They are excellent offroad.

My only issue is trying to keep them balanced. It was damn near impossible.

What I want to know is who is running the 38.5x14.5 TrXus.....? Haha.

So today I took my new 37" Trxus to an off road park and aired them down to 12 psi, no cargo or rear seats.

These tires grip comparable to an Irok which I once ran in 39.5 on my last beast.
All I can say is that I'm very happy with these Trxus. They went through a lot without the need for lockers which is a huge plus because lockers add stress to the drive train.

I used 10 ounces of dynabeads in each tire and they all balanced out nicely. I can also say that if these tires are still on the market when I need replacements, another set will be going on.

Scott is a friend of mine and getting the tire road forced balanced is a must. He had 1 or maybe 2 tires that were egg shaped and were replaced by the manufacturer. Once they were squared away the truck drove flawlessly from my understanding.

This is true. Whoever buys these has do balance on hunter road force machine. I had 2 bad tires. Took me almost a year of chasing my shake....monly to find w bad after road force.

I absolutely love my 37/12.50/16 Trxus MT, I was running 35/12.50/16 Creepy Crawlers witch i liked but when I went to the 37" Trxus it was like my reg was Transformed the off road performance is awesome, they ride supper smooth on the road, they balanced nice with minimal weight, and they measure a true 37" Oh yeah I got 4 of them delivered to my door from Amazon for less then 1600.00:beer:

Anvil, I'm in the same boat as you. I love my 345 KM2s and would pick up a new set if they were still being made, but I don't feel like waiting another year for the KM3s (if they even make them in a 345) so its time to figure out replacement options. In addition to the KM2s being pretty tough off road and having good traction, I liked the wider footprint when compared to a 37x12.5.

I was considering switching to a 17" beadlock wheel since it seems like there are more choices for 17" wheels in comparison to 16" but those 37" Trxus MTs look like a good option. Glad I saw this tread.

If it's a next few days, you gotta do what you gotta do.

For down the road...Keep in mind that the KM2s seem to be produced in limited runs. When stock is exhausted, BFG lists them as "discontinued." That means until the next batch is made, basically, or so it has been with several other sizes of KM2s. Talking six-months-ish, IIRC, but hard to say and probably depends on the size, availability of production time, etc.

How necessary do you think the 1" spacers are for the Trxus 37s? I didn't run any on my 345s but they do rub a bit in the rear on the frame rail, even with 4" bump stop extensions and they aren't even true 37s.
