Thanks for the thread link, Mike S. Good info. Interesting how a variety of seats fit the front holes (width) and you just have the fab up the rear mount. I might look into the 80 or supra swap...

Anybody have new pics?

This is a repost, but I put Camry electric, leather seats in mine. I got 'em from a local boneyard called "Toyota Heaven".
Did you do a search in the FJ 60 section?

I just recovered my drivers seat with the new foam and cover from Spector. It is certainly stiffer and seems more comfy now. I'll be taking a drive out to LaCeiba, Honduras over Easter vacation so that will tell me the long drive comfort but so far I'm happy. I'll likely swap the passenger seat foam this summer.

username, those look awesome. are those procar seats? entire cost???

i looked again for past threads on this topic and found some good info. sorry i got a bit lazy there by starting this particular thread.

Here's a link to the seats http://www.ironpigoffroad.com/interior.htm , plus $40 each for shipping. Not cheap, but they're worth it.

I thought they sat a tad too low, so I added some 1" spacers between the seat & the sliders.

username, do the procar seats need a special bracket to fit the 60/62? it sounds like you might simply swap the sliders? i saw a bracket for the 55s, but not the 60/62. the price, per seat, isn't too bad either. you can certainly buy them for less, but you'll likely have quite a few more headaches getting them in.

It doesn't need any special brackets, you just swap the sliders from your stock seats onto the new ones. Piece of cake.

durango seats

Just replaced stock seats with durango leather. Second row fabbed it into a 40/40 and got rid of the 20 in the middle. Also put in the third row seat, waitin for four point harness for those. Buckets mounted great in front, back had to fab and weld a small bracket.

any chance you have pics of them? i still think the seats in my audi S6 are some of the best stock seats i've ever had in a car. i'd love to see the 5000 seats in your rig.

or if you could find the split rear seats out of a upmarket non US 60-2 that would be sweet.

split rear seats would be very kewl.

Would love to find split rear seats for my 85 fj60. I take it they were available at one time. Anybody know where to find now?

Montero seats (late 80's early 90's) came with a spring suspension system like the one in BJ70's and are similiar size etc... Some 2nd gen monteros (93-97ish) even have power and lie down almost flat. Very nice IMO.

I went re-upholstered . I had them add seat heaters, adjustable lumbars, and in the back headrests for safety. I also had them make the console. Which is at the specified height and size for me. When my arm is on it the gearshift is perfect.

I used a leather like vinyl for durability.

They also added new foam where needed and I had extra added to the sides and bottom to hold me in place better.

Stock is pretty flat. My stock seats killed my ass after short drives.

Dunno what they are called over there. But Honda Accord seats fit almost directly onto 60 series rails. From memory all you need is to drill the bolts holes out to 10mm or maybe elongate them a touch. honda seats are real nice.
I think it was from about 1988 to 1995. something like that.
Cheers, Dan
