Who was it who sells a rear bumper/carrier kit?

I so wish.

my wife would have me drawn and quartered....................

I think I prefer to stay in one piece.

just talking about the 6" lift has me in enough trouble.

Remember, the 4x4labs kit requires you lopping off the rear crossmember. I would be hesitant to do that, but that's just me.

I'm not crazy about that, either. Unfortunately the IPOR unit isn't an option.

I will have "bumpers in a box" ready in about a month for those that can wait. Getting ready to cut the parts for the rear soon. Mine may be too hardcore for some, but if you don't mind trimming a little, I think they will be worth the wait.

He can't say something like that without posting pics, can he?!?

Does it have an integrated receiver hitch?
Ballpark price?
Does it have a cool waterjet cut sombrero in it?
I like trimming, cutting, chopping, mutalating...give me more info please!!!:D:D:D

<-- conspicuous absence of ballpark price.

i would lop off my cross-member for a 4x4 labs bumper
if this ends up a group buy I may want one depending on price

trust me, the bumper you are putting on is far far stronger than that wimpy cross member.

Wimpy? It's as stout as the frame. Without it and with the two frame ends being joined by a bolted on cross piece/bumper, I'd be a little worried about the frame flexing more than designed on the back end. It's a great design for clearance, looks, and dragging over rocks, just not sure of the long term effects on the frame and chassis.

Wow. Maybe I didnt read it right. So the basic DIY bumper from Luke is around five, but add on a tire carrier and ladder and its a grand? Is that with him fabbing the two swingouts or is that also DIY? I am really interested in on of his rear bumpers, but haven't heard back from him yet. I can imagine he is extremely busy though.

Sarah has some money she wants to put towards a bumper and I can kick in a little for the Holidays. How hard are these DIY kits and how hard is it to install the finished product. I heard his new bumpers did not require removal of the crossmember, is that true?

She likes the 4x4 labs, Hanna and Slee Bumpers. Just have to pick which one for her and her budget.

You will need access to 220V welder, especially for those beefy recovery points. A lighter duty welder can do alot of it, but a 220 will make things go faster.

My friend Alvin and I did our bumpers together and I would say it isn't really very hard, it just depends on how good a welder you are. Very little grinding is needed to get the main bumper in. You should be able to in a weekend get it all put together. I have very little experience with welding and Alvin just a bit more.

The bumper is easier to install with two people, but one might be able to do it with some ingenuity. You only need two people to get the bumper lifted into place.

The only complaint I have is the spindle caps. I wish they were threaded to make removal easier and not the bang on kind of caps.

PM me if you have any questions. I really think you and Sarah could have a lot of fun putting it together and if you don't have a welder, well here is the time to get one. :D
