Who wants to tackle doing the 3FE specific items for the FAQ? (1 Viewer)

Since neither I nor reffug own a 3fe, its harder for us to do an FAQ specific to it. Looking for a 3FE owner to volunteer to put the 3FE specific items together. We will add these to the FAQ.

I can help compile data but I haven't had to do anything to the engine, trans. or transfer other than change the fluids.

Yea, shoulda been more specific like GRB. I don't mind digging through archives to compile what is already written, but for now (no digital camera) all of my wrenchin experience will go to waste.

I am currently pulling my 3FE, I could do a CAM/CRANK gear writeup, along with Rear main seal R&R.

Romer / Reffug:

PM me about cross linking this FAQ with stuff in the 60 series FAQ. The engine is common platform on the FJ62 and the FJ80. There are a lot of 62 owners who have a LOT of experience with these engines.

What we had in mind is for 3FE owners to look at the existing FAQ figure out whats missing, do a thread about it and we will add the link to the FAQ.

There are multiple items so if several people are willing to volunteer, the items could be taken one at a time.

We are happy to add the 3FE items into the FAQ. We just don't know what they are. Use this thread to discuss items and come up with a list. We will get with Mike and add whats appropriate from the 60's thread.

With links provided by Mike, we have added a 3FE area in the maintenance section of the 80's FAQ. Right now it contains to threads from the 60's section.

Post other links here and we will add it.

Create specific 80's 3FE FAQ style links and we will add it. By FAQ style, look at the driveline or front axle job for what I mean. The oil FAQ is another good example.

Probably the only two areas that are 3FE specific would be the maintenance and the 4 banana repair section. Most everything else should be applicable. Let me know if I am wrong.

I have detailed pics of the Rear Main Seal job that are on here somewhere. I can contribute to whom ever will write this up, or I could write it up. Either way is fine with me.

Also, I can do the timing for a 3FE engine. When I got my 80 that's one thing that I needed to know. [Everyone talked about a window in the back of the engine. yada, yada]
