It's going to be fun to see all these details in Breck...with 30+ rigs all in one place!

**I think it would be cool if at some point on the trip, we all lined up somewhere and actually had time to really compare details vs. just picking up little bits while driving, stopping, etc. As scarce as 200’s are in our daily lives, I'm wondering if we might wanna actually schedule something like that...?

That's how much of the time at 100's in the hills is spent at camp. No better time! Also somewhere I have a pic of MT sliders and Slee Slider Steps side by side on each of my 100's. If you have small children the slider steps are the only way to go in my opinion. Their feet can slip between the tubes far too easily and get wrenched etc. so a filler plate is really a must have.

Yeah that was one of those "photo's of opportunity" lol. I had both 100's at my office and both were on 33's at that time. I would love to have the Slee's stick out maybe an inch or so more but I know that just adds to the stress pushing that moment out further away from the frame rail. Can't have everything!

TLDR - I went with White Knuckle

A little late to this thread but I went through all the same questions when I was looking for sliders. Looked at Slee, White Knuckle, and Metal Tech. I didn't have the opportunity to see any first hand before I purchased mine. The factors that went into my purchase.

1. Protection - All three products provide this without fail
2. Style - Kick out or no kick out. I went with the kick out for the exact reason someone above noted. I have two small children. They can climb in and out of the truck without issue. I also like the solid top plate on the white knuckles.

I have used them as actual sliders only a hand full of times. But in those 3-4 times they have paid for themselves. The rest of the time it keeps the short people in my life happier.

I'm sorry to hear about your sore throat. Terrible cold going around. You should not expose your co-workers to this terrible bug, I'd recommend taking a sick day and (ahem) resting, perhaps in the comfort of your garage so as not to expose your family either.

I also researched a bunch before pulling the trigger, but ended up with WKO "Cody Special" sliders. Ordered the sliders bare metal with a full powder coated diamond plate top. I just finished applying primer and a few coats of Rustoleum Satin black paint and will hopefully install them this weekend. Looking forward to getting them on and will also take some pictures with measurements for you all.

Does anyone have the corresponding measurement for Slee and White Knuckle sliders? Picture is of stock running boards on 2014. Using same measuring technique as MetalTech image by @kreiten. Straight down, from door sill. 3 Inches.
Has anyone confirmed the weight of Slee sliders?
Looks like White Knuckle are 82lbs each based on the shipping info from @linuxgod (unless they are on pallet.). I was told MetalTech are also around 80lbs.

Nope, just "boxed" (wrapped in thick cardboard). The "Cody-special" sliders with the 2x3 rail are about 70 lbs each, and the full diamond plate was I guess another 8-10lbs each (second box was 23lbs for the pair). FedEx left them on my porch - I was very surprised they weren't just dropped in my driveway.

All of these steel sliders seem to be in the same range when it comes to weight. They only vary by 10 to 15 pounds. Given where they are placed on the vehicle I think the difference is negligible. It reminds me of my road cycling days when I would obsess about a few ounces on my bicycle while my body was 10 to 15 pounds overweight.

Someone asked about the weight of stock running boards. I took mine off yesterday, they are maybe 5 lbs each. Very light weight.

Is slee the only one that requires drilling on a 2016 or do all of them?

The white knuckles require drilling. You also have to tap a whole with the supplied tool.
