45 years old, Systems administrator at small Biotech company in SF Bay area. Fell in love with Toyota's in Peru where I grew up, it was 1970 when my late dad bought a Corona and I knew that little car was something special. First love affair with cruisers was 1976 living in Bethesda, Maryland at that time my best friends neighbor was this HOT looking chick that drove a 74 baby blue FJ40 and next door to her was another neighbor that had a white FJ40 with winch and all setup for wheeling (2 cruisers next door to each other, what are the chances) I said to myself one day I will own one of those FJ40's and have a Hot chick like her. My love affair with cruisers is almost 30 years old and getting stronger, now if only I could get a brand new troppie or 70 series Pick up I would be in heaven, too bad they are not available here in the USA or are a hassle to bring them in. I drive nothing but TOYOTA'S!!

P.S. Sold my XJ tonight, pretty bummed since it's been a VERY large part of my life for the past 4 years, but also excited because tomorrow marks the beginning of my Cruiser ownership.

Hmmm...not sure about Arya's counting skills...

Bought the 80 because I wanted a good mix of on and offroad capabilities. I was into the hardcore rock crawling thing for a number of years (still own two swb heeps) and now the passion is longer expedition/exploration style trips.

After 20 years of test tubes and microscopes, I gave up the healthcare sciences and went to work as a freelance journalist/photographer specializing in outdoor/wilderness trekking/travel. I wore out my first expeditionary vehicle and then discovered 80s. No turning back. Looking forward to another round of my latter avocation.
