I have had my 2000 100 series for about 6 or so years and recently i decided i need to start buildin her up. I put 865 springs in the rear for a 3" lift in the rear and adjusted the tortion bars in front for a 2.5" lift. I recently read about the diff drop you can do in the front to make the CVs go back to the standard position. Anybody have anymore information they give me on that? I would like to find out more about that. Also, i would love some suggestions on which shocks to put on for front and back if someone has any advice. I have pics of before and after the lift i will post soon.

This is a pic from after the lift and running boards off

Here is a pic from after the lift.

Another question I have is which tire to put on there. Ive been told that a 295/75/16 would fit but i dont want any rubbing. maybe 285 better? Also, everyone seems to like BF A/Ts, good choice? or would BF MUD TERRAIN be better?

Yeah, you need 285s or 295s, especially with lift. Rubbing won't be an issue and you can go even larger. Not sure about MT if you regularly drive on the pavement, so consider ATs. Consider Nitto ATs as many here are happy - me included.

Not sure about the 3" from the 865's. They'll give you 1.5" lift but not 3". You'll want to check your droop and get an alignment after cranking those T-bars that far too.

Thanks for info and for help. I'll check out the nittos thanks. I think 285 will be enough but not sure. I would like to get up to about 4", suggestions? I measured from center of wheel before/ after and got about 2 3/4" in the rear do close. But yes you're right about the front. I didn't measure that right. Can I lift the front with a new shock and spring to maybe 3.5" ? And can I get 4" in the rear with a new shock?

I was told the reservoir shocks are almost necessary for desert rallying and lots of quick shock movement correct? We do that more than rock crawling.

I was told that I may be okay with an OME shock. That would lift it more and would also be a lot cheaper than the slew reservoirs

Our LC's have IFS, there are no springs in the front. The only way to lift the front is via cranking/indexing your torsion bars. There are some great "how to" threads in the FAQ section.

truck is looking good!

Don't know if you found the right tires yet, but I went w/ Kelly TSR in 285 and LOVE them. In that large of a tire, they are dang near a M/T, but are siped and extrememly quiet on the road. When I say quiet, I mean you don't even hear them w/ the windows up and humming along down the highway. Reviews I read said they were quiet and I didn't want a M/T. Thought I'd throw that out there. Here's the pics of mine.

Those do look like a nice tire, I really hope to upgrade my tires soon as well. The ones I have on beyond horrible I just haven't put any money into tires due to no off roading with it yet but they will hopefully be on soon when I find the right one. The TSR does look nice. So are you saying I should get a new tougher t bar to crank it higher? Or is there no way to raise the front higher than it is?

the only thing a new tbar will do is better support more weight like a bumper and winch. there is an awesome thread by Gunney called torsion bar 101 I think. The max lift is constrained by suspension geometry and cv angles, not by the stiffness or torsion bar. spressomon has done the most research and has stated the a distance of 20.5" from center of hub to fender lip is optimum. I'm running 21.5" as a lot of of others on here. You want about 1" of rake (front lower than rear) so just take whatever the hub to fender distance in the rear is, subtract and inch and adjust the front accordingly.

Okay thanks I'll check out that thread and do that. If I do the diff drop that won't raise the vehicle it will just set the cv angles back to standard position right?

Okay that thread did help. So if someone could give me ideas on getting a 3.5" or 4" lift in the rear and a 3.5" or 3" lift In front is really appreciate it. That seems to be a confusing subject for me. Thanks I would love to get my cruiser to that height.

That's the point.... With IFS you DON'T get 3-3.5" of lift in the front. People have been trying for years. 2.5" up front is as much as you are going to get and even at that height, the ride is squirrely.

Sorry about my asking questions. I'm new to all this. My dad was big on it and we just started doing it together and he has me doing all the research, all his expertise was on 40s. Thanks for the patience
