I'm confused as to why you're asking US to tell you which to drive. We have no idea as to your preferences - only you do. So asking us to guess which is more appropriate to your driving needs is..what? Pointless?......
He posts this question in a cruiser forum, so he therefore enjoys a good and puts under the title to please not be arrogant (as if we ever are) Since he enjoys a good , he should buy the heep because he will be for the rest of his life.
Sammy - you need to state your requirements .. are you doing daily driving? expeditions, short runs to a tough trail for wheeling?
I mean one answer might be to just drive the TJ until it falls apart and park the 80. When the TJ falls apart or has depreciated to the point of no return then sell it and put the 80 on the road.
In other words without a proper requirements definition, we can't advise (except to say that a heep is a )
Got a lot of responses over 1 night. Most of you brought out good points in which I was looking for, with the exception of moralien. Like the humor though. True the Jeep will not be good for the highway. I will stick with the Cruiser becuase the Jeep seems a little impractical for my driving style. Plus my driving is like 98% in the road and 2% off. Plus I need to travel for at least 2 hours to get to any decent off roading areas. The Jeep has no cargo room to hold anything. I'm not asking either one of you which vehicle I should drive. I was basically looking for oppinions and pro's and con's. So it looks like I'm going to stay on this excellent forum and post more stupid threads like this one. Hahaha sucks for all of you. Thanks
Turbo, thanks for adding such valuable information as well on your last post
He should have expected this type of response. If you went to a Honda forum and asked if you should buy a Honda or a Kia, which response would you expect?
When you add to the title bar "don't be arrogant" and follow it with a "!" you get what you deserve.
Bottom line is he already owns both vehicles but is asking us which he should drive more often. Anyway, thanks for thanking the folks that contributed to the thread
Two cents from a newbie. I think you made a good choice. I have owned two TJs and have been around the TJ world for several years and am finally getting back to my yota roots. 7" of lift and 37s on a TJ can be a very capable rig IF - IF it is done right (6" long arm kit+1"body, d44s, 4.56s, SYE+HD drive shaft, etc). But the fact that you mentioned NO axle mods leads me to believe that whoever built it up was concerned more with looks than with function and likely cut corners with the lift. With stock axles and stock gearing you are just asking for trouble with 37s on a TJ - and upgrading these parts is serious money.
Like someone else said - these are completely different vehicles so it's really hard to do a comparison, but I would be leary of any TJ with that build and no more details.
Anyway, being a newbie I figure it will be a while before I can do anything but ask questions on this board so I thought I would take the opportunity to chime in a topic I know something about!

Don't worry Condoor, we are equal opportunity about the folks we beat on <- see Seriously, if you have questions, don't hold back. You will get an occassional for not searching, and likely from me, but no one listens to me anyway, so I'm used to it.
No one mentioned the possible HUGE NEGATIVE with the Cruiser you describe. It only has a 50% chance of being Antique Sage...which means it has a 50% chance of being dark green (and that color sucks more than white!)

actually less than 50%
true with the rest although I find white and green on cruisers equally disgusting
They are 35's with 4 inch on the springs, 3 inch body lift (not a wise descission). True the TJ does need to have its gears replaced becuase and there is not enough torque to get going in 5th gear. So another down side to the Jeep's part for daily driving.
