Hi all. I am getting a lot of contradictory advice from the turbo shops in AUS, not that i blaim them. I nderstand that they all want to make a sale but i need a shove in the right direction. So which is better AXT or TURBOGLIDE? I drive a 99 105 1HZ. Thanks THEO CAPE TOWN

Well I don't really know what to tell you about any thing that new but I am running an AXT setup on my 3B and all I can say is WOW! I hear alot of good things about the turboglide setups but here in Canada we don't get our hands on anything toyota that sports a diesel that new. Diesel toys went out in the late 80's for us and I 'm still waiting for them to bring the Import diesel back.

a custom job with a turbo dialed ot your driving style is the best option...
cheers
BTW, i really like the Safari kits...

woooouu .. !

I just bought a 99 100 series yesterday and will be turboing it soon.I will not use turboglide (they are 50kms away) but will check Safari,AXT Denco including there air/fluid intercooler plus others.Hopefully I will turbo my hj75 at the same time.

Safari kit:
much more extensive including a new exhaust manifold, uses a Garrett T3/T4 water-cooled hybrid turbo. Around $3100-$3200AU IIRC

AXT:
Similar to Safari, inludes manifold, water-cooled Garrett. I can't remember model specs or price, i have the info at home.

Turboglide:
About AU$500+ cheaper than Safari, used stock manifold, Garrett GT28 turbo with .86 turbine AR. The install is much simpler since you use the stock manifold and the directions did not mention a water fittings so i assume it is not water-cooled. I have asked turboglide to confirm that it is a ball-bearing turbo and asked if they offer a water-cooled version.

All kits have adjustable wastegates.

I like the idea of a ball-bearing turbo but don't like that it is not water-cooled. How much benefit do you think the safari and AXT manifolds make? Worth the extra cost?

I have installed 4 Denco turbos on 3Bs.

Have a Denco turbo coming for the 1HZ this week, will give updates and performance.
