@birch hill

Two black trucks both in their respective garages for comparison. @n55luvr's from the passenger side, he's running 275/65/18 KO2s, mine from the driver's side with 275/70/18 KO2s.

He and I recently talked tires, he mentioned that he wanted to move up to the 275/70. I had 275/65s prior to the KO2s then moved up to a 275/70. I think there is a decent chance that, with an 1.5" lift, the 32s will leaving you wanting more.

I think from here it's up to your personal preferences, good luck. 🍺

Thanks for all the reply’s! The feedback has been extremely helpful. @agingfleet. Thanks for the comparison pictures. Are either of those trucks lifted?

Mine in the second photo is lifted 1.5”, not sure if @n55luvr ‘s was when that photo was taken.

285/65/18 KO2s from Costco. Had em for 6 months. Love em. I run 1.5in tough dog lift.

33. I would say keep an on the width if you are wheeling and not running spacers. 275/70 r 18 is great common size with lots of choices.
I went 275/70r18 ridge grapplers. 1.25" spidertrax spacers on stock 18' wheels. 2.5" OME /heavy lift. Great stance I think. But I have ARB front and Slee rear bumpers so lots of extra weight. you should be good with a 1.5" lift with no extra weight on 275/70r18s. I added the spacers because with the extra height on the 33s the wheels looked sucked in. If you went with wider 33s you could probably skip the spacers but then you might get rubbing at full extension.

The ride on the 33s is very smooth once you get the suspension dialed in. Slight loss of power but not that noticeable with the V8 in the Hundy. Mine still has a slight stinkbug rake stance but that should level out as the rear springs settle and when it's loaded.

Does this throw off the factory navagation system? Is there any way to correct the speedometer?
Thanks
it's off by about 4 mph at 55 mph on 33s. Yellow box will correct that. The NAV uses satellite. But you can adjust the tire size in the NAV so it will track more accurately based on wheel revolutions when you lose satellite.

Thanks again I really value all the feedback!

I ended up ordering the 275/70r18. We shall see, still some nagging concern about being too large. They should arrive today and the ome 1.5 kit on Tuesday, can’t wait to get it back together.

The 33’s are in the barn. Side by side comparison to the old tires.

I wonder what affects MPG More? .4'' taller or wider?

Somewhere in the depths of 'MUD, there exists a somewhat scientific study of this. I remember reading it once on one of the down-the-rabbit-hole threads about tire size. I'm too lazy to search for it again, but the findings suggested that the rotational mass played more of a role in MPG than anything. The mass is working against you with acceleration, which is where most of our bad mileage comes from. Once you're up to speed, the larger diameter tire actually helps you out a little with the gearing, but not enough to offset the mileage hit you take. The heavy tires also make slowing you down a little tougher, but neither are enough to talk me out of bigger tires.

275/70-18 KO2s on my '07. My only negative experience with them is the feeling that I should have gotten them sooner. Great tire, great size for this rig. I have the OME 2865 1.5" rear springs, cranked up the stock torsion bars in the front, and Ironman FoamCell Pro shocks. I'd actually like a little stiffer setup and may go taller to get that down the road, but the 275/70-18 tires look great with the 1.5" lift. No rubbing.

Larger size throws off odometer. SO when you calculate mpg, you have to add additional miles to odo reading and then divide by gallons, or something like that. ;<)

We have been talking about this for 15+ years on mud. baahaa!

Did Costco install them, I read they wouldn't install non stock tire sizes
Yes, they installed mine. The tech advised he wasnt sure they would fit. I assured him they would and they installed no problems.
