Some OBD 2 readers are able to also read proprietary data that are not part of the standard protocol. Looking for the most compatible reader for 200 series. Thank you!

Maybe a little more than you're looking for, but I just installed a Scangauge 3 this past weekend and I'm really liking it. Before that I had Veepeak that I used with OBD Fusion.

So you want one to show data while driving like temps and stuff like or to read out error codes, binding new keys and other?

Good thread on this topic:

1 vote for the Carista module. Be sure to check whether different adapters can do TPMS sensor ID programming, which Carista definitely can.

I have a 2011 lx and carista evo doesn't even light up when plugged into it. I tried it on a different car and it lights up on ignition on.
I can read codes on my lx from techstream provided cable but it can't program tpms. Any clue why carista is not lighting up?

I am trying to dig in, looked at a generic pin out of obd2 and pin 16 is supposed to give a 12v reading as per my understanding. But when I used a multimeter with extra long thin wiring to go all the way inside this port and ground with pin 4/5 didn't give out any reading.

Does anyone have luck using carista on a 2011 model? (I am trying to get help from carista support as well).
What other obd2 connectors have you used to program tpms?

suspecting my OBD fuse may be broken. its 7.5 amp at location number 27 on driver side (under steering wheel). Does anyone know the fuse model number or size if I have to buy a replacement. Also any good fuse removal tools you know of which can get this small fuse?

is this the right part?

Just match the fuse with one at an auto parts store. Also there is a very effective mini-fuse pull tool in the under-hood fuse box lid.

Thanks @bloc , finally figured out that its a blown out fuse for OBD which is not powering my carista.
Now I remember, a year ago I was using another obd2 bluetooth live data sensor with obdfusion app. I thought the adapter stopped working after 6 months and tossed it. Now it makes sense that the fuse was blown.
Was able to use carista evo to update the tpms sensor.

Nice, glad to help. And the Evo is a nice device.. I did a full scan of my truck on the road today and it was noticeably quicker than the original.

Carista Evo works great w/ my 2011

The EVO model would not communicate with anything accept the standard OBDII modules on my 2010LX. It woudln't communicate with the "Network E" as OBD Fusion calls it. I sent mine back. I didn't troubleshoot it at all, since it didn't seem any snappier than my old Carista module that did everything as expected.

I know you can use the original Carista OBD scanner with OBDFusion. Assume the same goes for the Carista EVO?
Works fine for dashboard and diagnostics on my 2013.

The fact that it would program TPMS for @pvchaitanya and yesterday did scan my ABS/SRS/etc and other modules (tho I didn’t pay for Pro sub at the time to see what the actual codes were) suggests it does things other than ECM/TCM for at least some of us.

@lx200inAR what is “network E” used for? I’ll try testing that on mine.

@bloc My EVO would connect to Network A but not to Network E. You have to have the Toyota Advanced back to see Newtork E.
