Which key fob for RS3000? (1 Viewer)

I have a factory installed RS3000 in my 1996 FJ80 but when I purchased the vehicle it came with no FOB's. I'd like to order one, but I remember when I ordered one for my 2000 4Runner I had to match up some numbers. How do I know which RS3000 key fob will work with the RS3000 in my FJ80, or will any of them work?

2 for 28 bucks. You'll only end up using one of the buttons - the one you press when programming it will work to unlock or lock the doors.

All the rs3000/3200 remotes should program fine. I had some Toyota 4Runner remotes for my LX450 and they also worked on an early Rav4

original part number 08191-00870, replaced by PT398-07100.

The 1998-up number, 08191-00871, which has a grey case as opposed to a black case, will not work.

I bought one off eBay and don't need it $10 and its yours. Ripping out that alarm system was one of the most satisfying jobs I've done! Installed a simple $25 remote door opener, it never chirps at me, the horn never goes off, the doors always open and MOST importantly the truck ALWAYS starts!

After reading your post, does the remote #PT398-07100 also works on the 97 LX450?

I'm not sure what the PO did but I got the truck with no remotes and the alarm is not working anymore or was disabled. I just got 2 regular copy keys.

No chirps or flashing lights when I open or close the truck manually but it does lock/unlock all doors. There is also a LED installed on one of those empty slots above the side mirrors control and it never blinks or turn on. Is that LED an oem thing or an aftermarket alarm component?

Also, the truck does have the black box under the driver's seat and now I'm thinking about getting a new remote (the oem one you mentioned) and program it myself following the RS3000 manual. By doing that, is there a chance to mess everything up and have the rig not start anymore? Or since it doesn't chirp/flash lights anymore when lockin/unlocking it, should the wiring be checked for any modification?

I just picked up a 97 LX and used the universal car remote classic. I used the LC code and now have 2 new remotes. Only the lock button works and toggles lock/unlock. The other 5 buttons don’t do anything.
