Read the FAQ by Jim C and according to that the 76 came with a vac retard (early) or advance (late) but I can't find pics of the two so I can compare to mine. So which is this??

Thanks :)

Thanks I was afraid of that.

I would say vacuum retard due to the vacuum port being located on the back side of the actuator; vacuum advance disruptors have the vacuum port on the front side of the actuator.

Sorry:crybaby:

appears to be a 1/'75 to 8/'76 points distributor-vac. retard. they are good distributors, and if you find nardek(in AUS), I think you can get a vac advance cansiter for them.

Thanks again for the info, I need to decide how I am going to upgrade the dizzy situation.

Sure about that? My '73 orginal has one and I know of a 10/'74 with another

For 1974, there are two distributors, one federal and one CALI. model, and the CALI model looks similar, and shares the same cap. the FED model looks like the standard 70-73 vacuum retard, with the vac. canister facing the other direction.

Anyhow, for upgrades, that is the best of the points distributors. Nardek sells a vac canister for it, and with a recurve (if you ditched the EGR) by Jim c or Mark A? it could be your best bet.

I'm going to have Jim go through my carb so I will get his opinion and see where I end up.

While this one works fine, I found out the hard way it is not waterproof :D
