I need to make the search very broad, because the Junk Yards, I mean Automotive Parts Recyclers operate in a weird manner in this Country. - They're not very interested in selling things, they're more like Automotive Parts Hoarders.

Can someone confirm if all 22R and 2L Fans are the same, and that the Fans remain the same regardless if it's fitted to a Hilux or a faux Landcruiser?

If there is no visible fluid leakage, is it likely that the Clutch is OK?

Don't they all turn backwards on the other side of the planet?

Everything else there is backwards....

I'm afraid NA cannot answer that one fer you....sorry.

:flipoff2: but seriously, if Toyota put anything that can crossover from a Hilux, into a car, its news to me.

DUH I get it now. Myfriend, it sounds like you could use a E-Fan anyways. At idle the fan will be at full blast and it wont rob the engine of any power. And on the clutch fan fluid (silicone) matter, I believe you can rebuild them, I know its common in 80's tech.

I'm not sure about what all the fans cross over to or not....

But the 22R-E and 2LT-E fans that I had were different. Now, two years later, I don't remember what exactly was different, but I specifically remember setting them side by side and noting that they were entirely different beasts. Perhaps the diameter of the hole centers was different....

You are correct, I ordered a replacement fan from man-a-fre for what they listed under the Hilux. When i got it the mounting holes on the new fan didnt match up, so i was very aggrevated and shot them an email. Turns out the fan is ment for a 2LT and will cross to "some" 22rs. Mainly the RE. That doesnt make sense as i work for oreillys and have been through all of the parts for the R and RE and the RET and they all use the same fan clutch, as do the deisels. Now I have a broken fan that will cost 78 dollars to replace along with one that doesnt fit in which i lost 31 dollars for. Itll cost more to ship it back to man-a-fre than ill get back.

On the electric fan, I ran 2 12inch e-fans and it would overheat going down the highway at 75+ or on the trail with high rpms. in the city or on a backroad it was fine. Swaped a broken fan and one 12incher and she runs at 190 no matter what. If you do go Electric I highly recomend you wire it to a switch, do not go with the thermal sensor. To much room for error, and if you cross water alot youll want to turn it off anyway.

EDIT: Some of the dodge trucks fan clutchs cross over, along with a Nissan and Mazda/Ford. I just cant remember which ones...

The EPC shows different part numbers for the L and R engines. Doesn't mean they won't swap, just different part numbers.
