on a trip this weekend, i was cruising along at about 60 (~3000rpm) then dropped instantly to 40 (~2000 rpm)

lost almost all power in the truck in an instant. had to limp her home in 3rd, getting into 1st on some of the bigger hills.

what should i check first?

Fuel filter

the fuel pump.

fuel pump is relatively new.... had one go out about 1.5 years ago, and this time had different symptoms. with the fuel pump, it would just die, and then not start up again... i'll check the filter at lunch....

Vacuum hoses.

fuel filter flows quite well, after checking.

so, she's sit for two days, and now doesn't want to start. sounds difficult to crank, not wanting to turn over.....

this is starting to seem more expensive all the time....
