Hi Guys,

I am going to fit front and rear Lockers soon to my 1982 FJ40, but I would like to get some ideas of where to fit the three switches on the dash or rather under the dash etc. .

Can those that have fitted Lockers already, post a pic of their incab switches!
I tend to mount them on left and right of steering column.

Any other good ideas out there?

Cheers
Adolf

Thanks! Saw that. But I do not intend to run wires outside dash. Also, I am installing the orginal ARB Switches!

I fabbed a bracket for them (sawed appropriate sized holes into angled aluminum channel) that I bolted under the dash on the left side

that way I have the right hand free for hand throttle and hand brake

I remember seeing a thread about mounting switches where your ashtray is located. They removed the ash tray, made a block-off plate, mounted the switches to it. If you do not need an ashtray, it is a good way to go and it looked really clean.

Here are the switches installed into a 12/82 40 series, in a fabricated bracket:

Here are switches mounted into the stock radio opening in a 1974:

Here is a pic of the ash tray plate. Pretty trick I have one in mine. Proffitts sells them... Not sure how much. Also try 12VoltGuy.com

X2 That is exactly what I was gonna say! Proffitt's makes the ashtray cover for switches and 12voltguy.com or seabass44 on here (i think) makes a ton of really cool custom switches!

This setup uses the ARB bracket.

your gonna need that ashtray for something besides switches. use something like angle iron or angle aluminum or angle plastic( i used a hacked up 3x5 reciepe card holder)and use the bracket with 2 bolts that holds your steering column on the bottom edge of the dash board. that way you dont cut any new holes or loose your ashtray. Just sandwich that thing in there and put it off to the one side of the steering column. ill try to get you some pics.
