Looking for the switch that activates the interior light when the rear hatch opens? Is it a gravity switch or magnetic as I do not see a pin/hood style switch? Thanks

It's the latch itself.

Yep, if you shove a carabiner or similar object into the latch it will shut the light off. I hang a small LED lantern from mine while camping, it hangs down enough so I don't forget to remove it before closing.

So your saying the switch is in the drop down tailgate, not the hatch? I ask because the light works when swithed to the "on" position, but not to "door"

It's in the latch mechanism of the hatch (top part that has the glass).
