This beautiful ride is listed on eBay. Checkout the roll bar. I like how it extends behind the rear seats Does anyone know where it's from?

That rollbar looks like muffler pipe. Check out the way the ends of the bends are expanded to fit over the vertical pieces.

looks like a kit that has flanged ends so it can be broken down for shipping, never seen one without A post bars:eek:

I'm still sticking with my original statement about it being muffler pipe (or something similar. The expanded ends look to have been stretched quite a bit. Also the bends have flattend the pipe quite a bit. The horizontal pieces over the front seats look like they simply bolt or screw to the windshield hinge. It all points to a home made job with thin wall materials as opposed to a professional product. There is nothing wrong with a home made job. I build a lot of my own stuff. But I wouldn't trust that roll bar with my life in any wheeling.

That being said, I do kinda like the basic design of the roll bar. It just needs a little work.

Yep, looks like exhaust pipe. Look how thin walled it is. Examine the slip overs - you can tell how thin the "pipe", or more accurately, tubing is. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

On the other hand, the design layout is good. Unlike most roll cages, the rear middle and rear legs completely span the earlier, wider seats. Most cages put the bars in such a position that the seat must be spaced out from the tub wall.

And yeah, there are no front legs in the cowl. It has the roll bar overheads bolted directly to the windshield frame. That's not very strong.

Overall, this rollcage looks nice but is rather useless. Anyone buying this LC would be smart to replace the cage.

I like the fact that it spans the rear seats as well. Mine cuts behind the middle of my seats. The bars bolted to the windshield are a little "wranglerish".

It's not a roll bar. Like everyone has noticed it has no front hoop, but instead is attached to the windshield. IT HAS NO FRONT HOOP BUT INSTEAD IS ATTACHED TO THE WINDSHIELD!!!!!!!!! You've got to be kidding me.

It is almost certainly made out of muffler tubing. Thins walled with deformed inner radii.

You could easily make a real roll bar that extends past the long jump seats. That looks to be a total waste of time and muffler pipe.

exhaust pipe.

reminds me of an old "Trucks" episode when stacy david removed a PCV bar from a half cab bronco.

x2.

I used to have a ConFerr Rollcage that Pete Condos personally made for a gal back in the 1970s who insisted on keeping the long jump seats. IIRC, the hoop directly forward of the jump seats was at a point where the wheelwell does not exist any more. So Pete just MADE A STEEL PLATE that covered the ENTIRE TOP of the wheelwell all the way to the hoop mounting point. Three cutouts for the straps of the jumpseats legs and armrest.

I described it to him back in 1990 or so and he still remembered making it.:)

FWIW, you should know that there are still vendors out there offering slip fit bars. I haven't seen this one in particular, but I have seen others.

I've got one of the old Smittybilt four point bars for a '55. It has slip fit joints with through bolts.

But I bet you won't find any vendors offering rollbars that use the windshield instead if a front hoop! ;)

Here's another problem with this hoopty lite bar. To make it clear the seat the "designer" bent the tubes towords the inside of the cab, over the filler neck. Even if this was a properly built cage the roll bar would fold like a house of cards at these bends, possibly breaking off the fill neck and spilling gas all over.

I think there's enough mint green on that rig to kill someone

I wouldn't want that thing protecting me. I might take my chances with schedule 80 PVC first.

its one off those cool factor items looks cool to some people but dosent do anything else ,like save your life good luck
