Hello guys and gals... I'm getting ready to rebuild my front axle and according to the manuals, I need this "red lead" stuff to setup the knuckles using the center gauge. Can anyone tell me where to get some of this or at least a sustitute? Thanks, SuperDC

Rob-

Use Dyechem spray on (or paint on). Will hold well on the chrome and score when rotated easily (this is what I have done). Acetone will remove the residue. Machine shop supply stores have it.

It is a PITA using the center gauge and to all of you DO NOT EVER MISPLACE THE LOWER SHIMS SETS.

I went looking for red lead when I setting up a differential. I was told that Prussian Blue has replaced red lead. Found it at NAPA. Dyechem is good stuff too.
