Well it seems the turn signals I have are not OEM --the mount is different

So before I order and mess up--who sells good quality front turn signals with gaskets?

also need a lic plate light socket or the whole assy

I am hoping to have them on by this weekend as I might be driving it by then!

Are they round or rectangular? I got OEM from SOR for my '66

square

they are square all amber on the 71--i like the early round ones but I dont think the base would cover the 2 screw holes in my fender

how did you order them from SOR i just checked and it seems even for the round ones they only have parts?

what I got

see the two holes in the fender? I imagine the base mounts there?

here are the lights I got off ebay---do not appear to be OEM

let the buyer beware:eek:

They are still available from Toyota. I think I ended up ordering OEM from CCOT a couple years ago - here's the link - Turn Signal. But if I were you, I'd call up the dealer. You would probably get a better deal.

Edit: Also, you're right. OEM fit perfectly in the holes in your fender.

Edit 2: As Fieldsken said, click the number one on SORs website. $57.93 at SOR, $47.52 at CCOT, and probably 5-10 bucks less at the dealer.

Good luck!

waiting to order

any suggestions I am hoping to order tonight?

I found some MAF
Cruiseroutfitters
etc

but I am wondering about quality

if you click on the number 1 in the upper left box you will get the whole assembly. i just checked and they do have them in stock

thanks

thanks

Ill check it out---there are some oem toyota on ebay too but 109 bucks so I'll check both

Those don't look stock to me. There is one big hole like on the early ones then two small holes for the small studs on the base to keep it straight. Your's has two bolts? The sides on the FJ40 lens is straight.

Your are correct!----What is weird is my truck came without them and I got those on ebay so the holes dont line up yet my fender has the 2 holes--probably 2 different people using the same aftermarket light

but even if I drilled the holes to match they dont look right

Now I look on mud before I buy ---I got those back when I got the 40 and was ordering bits and pieces for it

Thanks, Ive used SOR many times but just never notice that!

FWIW, I replaced my '78 square, rattling, vibrating, plastic bodied POS signals for the early round OEMs, which cover 2" at the base. I don't know if that covers ur holes, but they are much more solid signals.

Ordered a license plate light assembly from Cruiser Dan at American Toyota for my 9/72 FJ40. I installed it last weekend. I think it was around $35. It is great to live in Albuquerque and go directly to the source!

What's the original color of the '71 light housings? Mine are badly sun bleached, and I can't tell if they were originally black, gray or silver. I'd like to repaint them.

got em ordered

thanks for the help, got em ordered

anyone need some extremely rare custom fj40 turn signals?:eek::eek:
