When replacing transfer to trans seal...

Can someone do a poor noob a favor and pull up a drawing that shows where this tranny-transfercase seal is with the spring. Parts guy insists I have it but there's no spring or lip or anything. My best guess is you're talking about #27 on this drawing. http://www.sor.com/sor/cat068.tam?xax=19885 Can someone please confirm? I want to try and replace it on the weekend but still need to order it. Thanks. ....Steve
 
Yes, that is the seal, and it is installed with the face of the seal into the case/spring towards the tranny....

Not at the shop, or I would give you the Toyota part number....the Toyota seal has a metal spring in it.

Look in the Toyota Chassis and Body FSM, you can see the seal orientation....

transfer case puller

when i pulled the transfer case off my 40 is was a pita , went and got a proto puller number 4004 J worked great has feet on it with holes hooked to xfer case and pulled it right off
