ha, thats funny! I've got the stt on my 4runner and the st maxx on my GX. I prefer the st maxx.

65 PSI, holy moly I just jumped up to 40 from 32 and thought that was high. I wanted the STT MAXX but I do way too much daily driving to justify a mud terrain, so I went with Cooper Discoverer ATPs a good mix between all terrain and mud terrain. I have about 15k on them and they are doing real great on daily driving/mud/snow/sand so far.

The Cooper ST MAXX isnt a mud terrain, the Cooper STT is... And the Cooper ATP is a all terrain. The ST MAXX is a mix of the two. I wanted more than a AT tire, but didn't want a MT on the Lexus as its not going to really see much off road wheeling. What I did with it yesterday will be as much as I want to tackle with it. It's going to be more of a exploring vehicle and take the family camping vehicle. But I wanted the deeper tread for those times when I bite off more than I should have. I almost bought the LTZ, if I get another set of wheels I'm gonna do what blackCat did and get 18s and go for a sport look

Ah I see I was mixing up the STT and the ST MAXX, so for Cooper it seems like aggressive all terrain wise it goes AT3 to ATP to ST MAXX, although the ATPs are pretty aggressive IMO in person, the tread blocks are super deep compared to an all terrain and have an aggressive tread pattern. Maybe Ill check out the ST MAXXs next althought these ATPs are gonna take a while to wear out. After 15k miles, the tread has barely any wear on them.

The ST MAXX is like Coopers Duratrac but just better design and tougher 0.02. I've had both sets on 4runners and prefer the Coopers

hmm, I may have to consider those as I am coming due for some new rubber.

They are heavier than the Duratrac and STT but you can't beat a strong tire.

oh its way tougher... the dura tracs have only have a 2 ply sidewall and are known for getting sidewall punctures, and are notorious for being a bitch to balance when they get low on tread and wear funny im not sure what all the rage is on the dura trac, but that 2 ply sidewall had me running away from them from day one. i never have run a set, but i know plenty who have, and almost everyone who has, has had at least one puncture that was stupid. i have only ever had two sidewall punctures, and both were in pro comp tires, one was 100% my fault and would of happened with any tire- 30-35mph broad slide on snow right into a mile marker/reflector on the side of the road that was bent over at like a 20* angle (a friend had just hit it doing the same think and bent it over in a snow drift so i couldnt see it) and the other i have no idea but it was also in the snow... both where in C rated 33" tires...

now i almost exclusively run E rated tires just to have thicker carcasses and piece of mind knowing that my tires are not the questionable factor. id prefer a D rated tire, but the problem is finding one, most are E rated, and honestly there is not much or a weight difference in the tire itself between a D and E. i know people complain about the ride, and yeah i notice a little difference at first, but after a day or so, i get used to it and dont notice, and its never bothered me. even though its a lexus, its a ladder framed vehicle, im not expecting it to be a lincoln towncar... its a truck and so it drives like one- its also lifted. i run the PSI higher to get better mileage, and i really dont notice a big difference in tread wear. i will bump these up to the 80psi on a long road trip say to like the bay area to see family and then once im home ill drop it back down to the 60-65 for normal driving.

Holy cow that's some serious air pressure. I run 37 psi in the rear and 40 psi in the front of my F250. The quality of ride is night and day.

Becareful running low tire pressure in trucks like that. LT rated tires need that pis to hold the loads, they actually need more psi than P rated tires to hold the same load... I know it sounds backwards and it took me a long time to make sense of it but trust me (and the engineers with a lot more smarts than me/who design them), they need a higher pressure to do their work.

I run 45 when I do highway, 35 if I am mostly around town, and 12 when I am offroad :)

I always bump up the rear when towing, which isn't very often anymore. The Toyo MTs handle it well, I run a 35x12.50x17.

I keep the GX around 37 psi front and back but haven't done the chalk to test to find the happy place.

Is it a diesel? Are you running E rated tires? If so you are not running enough up front and depending on what your are towing no where near enough in the rear. You should be at least at 50... I'll find the chart but LT tires need their pressure to do the work, running them low can and will cause the tire to breath down and heat up excessively... And having worked on commercial trucks and doing DOT inspections I have seen it happen several times and almost ended up in court about it (thankfully I did my paperwork correctly and annotated the tires as being low and that I filled them and found no leaks...) Anyhow I know your probably not driving a commercial truck and hopefully you don't have a CDL.... sorry getting distracted here lol. But yeah the point I'm trying to make is just be careful about being too low. Too low is much much worse than more than needed, and its almost worse than over inflated.

the chalk test never lies, try it and see if youre lower or over inflating

That's what I use. It keeps from wearing out the center of the tread, I need all the traction I can get. Yes sir it's a diesel.

60psi does seem like a bit much if you arent towing. I run my ST MAXX's at 40 psi and when I just looked, I can see that the outer portions of the tread arent wearing by the dust left on them. I'll bump it down to 35-37 and see how that does

i just got a new set of SPC Performance UCAs (light racing) and will be putting them on the GX when they show up. i also picked up a set of Weather Tech window vents for it as well, with the rain coming these will be very nice to have! once i get the new UCAs on i will do the chalk test to see what is the ideal pressure for me with these tires. right now the fronts are kinda in the negative camber mode and will wear the tires fast no matter what. so that should hopefully be taken care of by the end of next week. i went with the LR arms over others because of the sealed UBJ, and its adjustability compared to the others. i dont race this or ever plan on jumping it, so they are plenty strong for my needs. i have also had good luck with them on my 4runner and wheeled them quite hard with no issues so they should be fine on the GX and its "light duty" uses.

I ran 65 lbs in my Duramaxx 2500 ... 20in wheels and a 6in lift ... not exactly a comfortable everyday driver .... after buying the gx it felt like i was driving on a cloud of muscle relaxers :steer:for the first two weeks ... so much nicer

Have fun getting that long bolt out (and back in!) on the pass. side... :)

Mine barely cleared the hardline on that side of the motor. Did anyone else have to jack the motor (or pry it over) to remove the UCA bolt? The drivers side is tight, but was easier for me.

My install wasnt too bad, got it past that hard line. Close but got it through.
