I searched but didn't find a thread on this, so thought I would ask. Sometimes these search functions just don't give the results we need but I bet it's covered maybe a few times.

Got an old USA made, Alemite A500 grease gun and it's been a good one. The store closed that I bought it from, so I'm searching for another one. After looking at the offerings of a few stores, decided I'll just probably order this exact one again because I like it so much. I got the E model that has a flexible extension. These are professional quality guns. I like the looks and feel of them better than the Lincoln that I looked at in O-Reilly's.

What are your recommendations for a manual powered, heavy duty grease gun that works great, last a long time, and preferable made in the US?

Thanks,

air powered lincoln

I have an old old military-spec gun (it's even painted olive green) in the garage that it REALLY nice, very well made, very heavy duty. I think you could drive an Abrahms over it and it would still work. But it is meant to me manually filled, cartridges don't fit in it, so I keep it full of cosmoline.

Every other manual grease gun I have ever bought has fallen apart in my hands, or wouldn't stay primed. I hate them all. I have a Craftsman air-powered one now that makes a cool noise, but otherwise I expect it will fall apart eventually too.

Wait... I also have a nifty mini-sized gun from Mac Tools that is actually really nice. I keep it loaded with "Green Grease" cartridges, which BTW is the best grease on the planet for driveshafts, I swear.

I have three diff grease guns with three diff grease cartridges but not really impressed with any of them, admittedly. I wouldn't mind finding a high quality gun as well.

Mine come from garage sales and are old ,American made guns. Mike
