Back ribs falling off the bone... mmm...

personally...I don't like them falling off the bone. I know a lot of people seem to like 'em that way, but personally, I like my ribs to have just a little "give" to them.

:meh: to each, their own...

how'd you season them?

easy way out, Costco did the seasoning for me... It's some sort of reddish spicy rub. But too salty for us, so I washed them a bit before grilling. Much better that way. Not bad for the price. Wife thinks they are a bit too fatty though - I don't. But the unseasoned ones they have seemed even fattier, so I left the home-seasoning experiments for later.

Me too...I like ribs with a little tooth...al dente :D

A sure sign they weren't wrapped in foil or worse

Anyone else like the Costco/Reser's Scalloped Potatoes?

Great add..Tonight with Tri-Tip and calabacitas.

Haven't seen them nor tried them split...but I'll look for them next time through Costco.

Damn, I can't even look through Costco with out losing at least 2 Benjamins

No s***! That's why I had to temper my visits to bi-monthly

Costco is bad; when I had my shoulder surgery, I would go for walks there as it was too cold to do it outside. It was every day for 2 weeks, my only saving grace was that I couldn't push a cart so I was limited to something that could be carried in only hand... and it still got expensive.

Our Costco rules:
1- Comparison shop before we buy anything, they don't always have the best prices.
2- Make a list before we go.
3- Only buy what is on the list, in the case of a screaming hot deal see rule #1.

well, OK, comparison shopping never hurts, but I can't say I felt taken by Costco very often. They do seem like a robust little-brainer place to shop.

Got a Tri Tip seasoned with Mexican spices and chipolte sauce ready to go on the grill. And sliced up some red bell peppers, wht onion, and seeded stemed sliced jalapnos to be cooked ala fajita style to go with the refried beans and mex rice. Mix liberally with hot tortillas and cervesa.

Tried this tonight, awesome like mom used to make. I wonder how it would take to smoke.

This requires a pic, sounds nom.

Tonight, I'm going off my own constructive criticism on the first brisket (just a tad on the dry side)..Tri-Tip 2.2 pounds @ 225 smoked for 2 hours, till it starts to 'bleed' (I.T. 145).
Looks like this;

Now foil wrapped with Dr Pepper, reloaded, and slow cooked till it reaches the soft toothpic poke. Wish us luck!:hillbilly:

No pics, but tonight was grilled tomatoes, zucchini and monkfish over sunflower seed & raisin thyme rice. I thought the wife would like it but she found a monkfish pic before it came off the grill and refused to eat it.

I put on some chicken leg quarters to cook slowly as the coals weakened. No smoke and only S&P. Damn good. Going out with a marshmallow now for the final hurrah. It was great to cook for the first time in a week.
