I took a few weeks and drove my FJ62 to Colorado, wheeled it there for two weeks including the SAS event, and then drove to California and ran the Rubicon, it was a huge adventure but now I’m back to work!

I can’t begin to tell you how impressive that is. That’s quite a trip!

Thank you, unfortunately my hybrid custom dirt-floor Nv4500 had a failure around Arizona/New Mexico border on my way home so I couldn't complete the trip behind the wheel, I shipped the truck the rest of the way back :(

What’s up man? How’s things?

Pretty good just been super busy working on Cruisers. I have been more active on FB as that page has almost 700 members the majority of which are not much DIYers so I have been drumming up a lot more business there. Should have some good stuff coming through the shop for the next few months, some of it not Cruiser related but still cool.

Cool, I still need to work some sliders for the 105 and I need some repair work on my old Jeep trailer. I’ll drop ya a PM when I get some free time.

Built a complete fuel system for a 350-swapped FJ60 a few weeks ago. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It had an external in-line pump setup and had burned out on him several times. In-tank is much better. I used a OEM Toyota 2UZ 4Runner pump with is compact, doesn't have a very high amp draw and should last the life of the 60.

Lots of knuckle rebuilds and brake jobs. This is pretty much my bread and butter work so I don’t need even really take pictures any more, it all looks the same

Last night's 100-series brake job, this is what was left of one of the rear pads LOL

What's with the external pumps? As far as ext pumps for EFI engines go, I have yet to find one that will last. Have tried several. Even external low pressure pumps for carburetor engines can be hit and miss. Great work on the tank and internal conversion.

Thanks Steve.
Not sure. My guess is that most external pumps just don't have the quality control or test time that OEM pumps do. I could be wrong though, as Walbro does manufacture pumps for OEMs. Most say it's the cooling effect of being submerged in gas.

Busy here. low mileage 5.3 getting swapped into @Radwelder FJ62 next year, not a Land Cruiser but currently working on a turbo LQ9/4l80e installion into the orange 72 C10, and @Sputnik40 rig arrived last week for some electrical cleanup and a full fuel system makeover for it's old school TBI conversion.

I also now have a AC hose crimper if anyone needs AC hoses made for their DIY conversions. @FJ60Cam (Mosley Motors) sells a nice kit with all the needed fittings and hoses for a V8 swap. I just installed a set, as well as evaporator, condenser, compressor, etc, on a customer's 60 that did a 350TBI conversion himself.

Good deal on you making hoses. There is a void to be filled there. There's hose and hydraulic shops that make hoses that don't necessarily understand specific or automotive applications and it's unprofitable and time consuming for mechanics to try to get proper and custom fit hoses made.

Man, I will definitely shake you some work I need done on the 105 in the upcoming year. Do you have an HD bushing press?

In the mean time, you got some time/space to do a little welding for me? One of the hinges one my old jeep trailer's tailgate has given up the goat and I needs to get a new one on there.

I currently use a friends 50 ton when I do 80 series bushings. This year I’ll be building myself a 50-100 ton out of a bunch of medium-duty truck frame rail I’ve collected

Send me a text about the trailer

Cool, the 105 needs all new bushings, so same as the 80 series.

Ill shoot you a PM, I can’t find your number.🍺

Converted @Sputnik40 FJ40 fuel cell to in-tank fuel pump setup today. Going to be reinstalling with all new AN braided Stainless hoses later this week. All in black, of course. Bill’s request, “I better not see any red/blue AN fittings on my 40!!”

Been working away on getting this C10 turbo setup built for my good friend. Just need to fabricate the exhaust (will be all stainless, TIG welded, really nice) and then it’s on to wiring.
Hopefully running next week.

6.0 ? What size turbo?

6.0 ? What size turbo?

Yes - LQ4. Turbo is billet wheel Gen 2.5 VS Racing 78/75 - a touch on the small side for making all-out power on a 6.0 but should be very punchy on the street

Only mods to engine are Summit camshaft and Riverdale Speed valve springs (both great value), other then that, complete stock, just pressure washed. :)

This is the current bang for the buck turbo LS setup.
