It seems like everyone was a huge fan of pumas about 10 years ago. But whats everyone using now? Are pumas still a quality system? Are people just buysmittybilts? Or did everyone get tired or waiting and get York’s or build C02 tanks?

I’m coming from a medium duty viair and a 2.5 gallon tank that took about 7 minutes to fill a 315/75/16. And I’m not doing another wheeling season of that😂

FILL ME IN

York with a 2 1/2 gallon tank. Fills a 315 in about 2 mins. @NLXTACY has everything you need to make it easy.

Arb duel compressor. 100% duty cycle. Pretty quick but the York is on my radar and worth a serious look.

I just have a middle range dual compressor I got for 40% off during a sale. Doesn't take up too much space, and gets the job done for my purposes. I'm typically just reinflating after dropping pressures for mud or sand. I can afford to wait a few extra minutes. I'd usually be standing there giving the rig a once over anyway.

Viair automatic 400p. I'm looking at building some hoses to inflate two tires at once.

I still have my MV50 and apparently it's one of the better ones. it has 80 to 90% of the speed of the Viair.

Mother Nature resistant so it can live a happy life mounted on the frame rail where the spare tire used to be, or where ever. I used to live a couple miles from the Outback Extreme facility. The owner invited me for a demo before I made the purchase. This compressor has a 1.5hp motor, draws 80 amps under full load and has a 100% duty cycle. It inflates my 37” tire from 10 to 30psi in about 2.5 minutes.

I'm a fan of the York, Wits End has made it super simple to put together and if you get the York for a decent price it's about the same cost as an ARB dual compressor.

Viair and I have a (4) way inflator/deflator, I can air up all (4) tires at the same time from 15psi-40psi in 15min. would like something more permanent but for now my setup is working great.

I used to use CO2, many years ago, nice & quick, and I always ran out of CO2 at the wrong time. Got a Puma, initially for the K5 ~13 years ago, still going strong with the 37s. The '93 and the LX each have a Puma installed, on a tire carrier/Puma platform from @Tools R Us. In the K5, the Puma is behind the seat. And a DIY air-up system, in each, as well. In the '93 and the LX, the line comes out the back and swings around.

No room for a York, Cruisers have S'Cs

Viair 400p. Just timed it. 10psi to 35psi for a 33” at 2:34 seconds. Pretty happy with that. Was thinking about making a 2:1 manifold. But low priority. Might make a plug in connection at the rear with my new power set up back there....but low priority.

York setups have been the preferred system for many years and for good reason.

For me, I've kept it simple and cheap. I got my first MV-50 compressor in 2002. Mounted in my engine bay until 2011 until it finally crapped out from dirt, vibration and temperature. Bought another one right after and still going strong, but I keep it inside.

That being said, the MV-50 couldn't air up my F350 35" tires to 55/65 PSI in a timely manner, so I got the MV-90 and it's about 2x the size but way more powerful. Really impressed on it and now and also use it for my Land Cruiser as well. MV-90 Air Compressor 45 Amps - https://superflowair.com/products/mv-90-air-compressor-high-output-heavy-duty
