I drive my 80 quite often, say 500-600 miles a month. It’s think it’s the perfect vehicle other than mpg. Everyone’s always saying how slow their 80s are which I don’t really agree with. They’re obviously not fast but how fast are y’all trying to go?? I’ve desired passing power and maybe some more grunt on steep hills but for the most part I can accelerate/cruise just as i need without really wringing it out. I split the rest of my driving time between a Subaru Outback 3.6 and some seasonal summer cars, all of which are faster than the 80 but the performance of the 1fz feels just right for the platform. I’m also a speed limit guy maybe straying +/-5mph. Im on 33s, a 2.5in lift and stock gearing. But I would LOVE to LS swap eventually.

The Audi S6 see most of the miles when not in the 80.

Once in a while I’ll hop on the Triumph.

Wanted to add this as a recent purchase.

My 80 is my DD, but with a wife and four kids, and only six seats in my cruiser, one of which is the front bench seat, we're often in this if we're all together:

An 8-seater 2008 Kia Grand Carnival. This is the "practical" family car. I generally dislike Kia, but there are some advantages. I have no emotional attachment to this car at all.... and it has a 3.8L V6 in it, which is pretty damn quick. I absolutely flog this thing when I'm behind the wheel. I drive it like it's a hot hatch on track day. Only problem is I keep going through tyres too quick!

It's my daily. So if I'm not driving it it's one of my three toys.

My 80 became my DD when I got deep enough into my baseline to have confidence in her, and handed off the 2014 4Runner to my daughter. Here’s my other choice in good weather.

Have two options. Most of my miles are spent in my LS400, but when the sun is shining I take my 1st gen out.

Its no surprise to learn that 80 series enthusiasts are quite simply car enthusiasts, but its neat to see how everyone from Ford, Italian, and two wheeled die hards all share an appreciation for the land cruiser. Carry on!
Very cool indeed! Lots of interesting and “unique” cars posted, many of which with specific maintenance and certain scarcity of parts and replacements. From my perspective, if you can handle 80 ownership you can and are willing to drive/maintain just about anything.

Alternate transportation to the 80 is typically an older bicycle for me (Trek 790 below being the current favorite). I've also been tinkering with an old Willys Jeep that has been in the family a long time and that I'll never get rid of.

Nice! During the summer months I’ll put more my miles on my bicycles than I will seasonal cars.

Daily driver Model 3, seen here in its natural habitat :hillbilly:

And the wife has an RX350 that we basically never drive.

Same here. The RX is a nice ride in many ways but I think it may be the reduced visibility that keeps us from preferring it most of the time. Whatever the reason the kids and I always pick the 80 when it's an option.
this. I’ve put a decent amount of miles on several “mid sized” suvs (xc60,SQ5,F-Pace) and they all have thee most ridiculous blind spots.
